A TEAM MATCH REPORT
ROUND 1
BOSNA V INGLE FARM
FAWK RESERVE
SUNDAY, APRIL 10, 2005
Ingle Farm, recently promoted from Division 3, travelled to Croyden West where they met Bosna who last season were relegated from Division 1, in the opening fixture of the Division 2 2005 season.
Farm created chances early and appeared to be the better team in the opening 20 minutes when they scored from a terrific through ball from Brendan Altus in the midfield to take the lead through Torsten Rutter. 1- 0.
A lapse in concentration allowed Bosna back into the match when the home team cut a ball back to their big striker who put the ball past the Ingle Farm goalkeeper. 1 - 1.
Farm responded with a flurry of attacks but were unable to scramble the ball into the net before the break.
Half Time 1 - 1.
After the break, Ingle Farm again took the lead. A good ball into Bosnas 18 yard box ended with a Dave Ennis header into the back of the net and Farm were again cruising,
2 - 1.
However Ingle Farms afternoon was about to be dealt a blow when the referee awarded Bosna two penalties in 10 minutes.
The first penalty was awarded for hand ball when the Bosna player flicked the ball onto a defenders hand, the second penalty was for a tackle from behind in the Farm 18 yard box. 3 - 2 to Bosna.
Despite these setbacks, Farm did not give up and continued to attack the Bosna goal coming close on several occasions in the final 10 minutes.
Very disappointing day for the first team after being on top for the majority of the match.
Final score Bosna 3 Ingle Farm 2.
