2006 SEASON - saasl division 2

B TEAM MATCH REPORT

ROUND 12
INGLE FARM vs BOSNA
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, JULY 9th, 2006

Ingle Farm smashed Bosna 11 - 0 in the 1:00pm match at Walkley Park today. The Reserves made their opponents look second-rank .. even Jason"Microcosm" Walker got on the scorers sheet, not once but twice !!

Peter Bria got the ball rolling for Farm in the 10th minute when his run then clever cross found Steve Paterson who put the ball away at the second attempt. 1 - 0.

Bria NEARLY got on the scorers sheet himself 5 minutes later when the unlucky player hit the crossbar after a lob from 20 yards. However Jarrod Rich gathered the rebound for Farm, turned his player and smashed the ball home from 10 yards. 2 - 0 to Farm.

Mark Faulkner enjoyed a fine first half for Farm and his strong run found Steve Paterson who laid the ball off for Ryan Anderson to drive home Farm's third goal from 15 yards in the 30th minute. 3 - 0.

Two minutes later, Bria again set up Paterson who comfortably finished from close range for his second of the match. 4 - 0.

Anderson had a good opportunity for his second minutes later, however his one-on-one with the keeper was well saved.

Mark Faulkner opened up Bosna's defense in the 39th minute as he set up Steve Paterson for his hat-trick. Paterson now has two first half hat tricks to his name this season. 5 - 0.

In the 42nd minute, Paterson set up impressive youngster Jarrod Rich for his second of the match .. 6 - 0 to Farm.

All players played well for Farm during the opening half. Paterson, Bria, Rich, Faulkner, Anderson, Huey Tran, Jason Walker, Jason Keep, Sean Robertson and Peter King all had fine moments for Farm's Reserves.

Poor old Michael Francken was left to shiver during the first half as the Keeper had but one touch.

Half Time: Ingle Farm 6, Bosna 0.

In the 58th minute hard running midfielder Mark Faulkner was rugby tackled by two Bosna players 10 yards out from goal earning Farm a penalty. Jarrod Rich stepped up to score his hat-trick from the resulting spot kick. 7 - 0.

Then things started getting ridiculously silly. In the 65th minute Jason Walker sliced his intended cross from 40 yards over the Bosna keeper's head and into the net. Walker did his Beckham impersonation as he strolled up the line with arms in air. 8 - 0.

A minute later Peter "(0/11)" Bria set up Mark Faulkner to score from 5 yards after the midfielder accurately crossed for Faulkner's well-timed run. 9 - 0.

Celtic fan, John Miller, entered the arena in the 75th minute and almost immediately set up a goal for Farm. The consistent defender stepped a player, passed to Steve Paterson who found Jarrod Rich who belted home his 4th goal of the match. 10 - 0 to Farm !!

In the 85th minute - Farm got their 11th !! Inexplicably it was Walker again !! Seemingly lost somewhere in Farm's forward lines, Walker's run ended with a smashing shot from 7 yards. Walker's goal prompted another unusual celebration.. this time it was ala John Aloisi with shirt over head. Oh yeah, that's what I wanted to see after I had just finished eating my meat pie. He even high-fived the crowd !! Now that's excited...11 - 0.

Happy Reserves Coach, Brian Toomer, described the win as "A good team performance." Toomer noted the fine individual performances of Steve Paterson, Jarrod Rich, Peter Bria, Jason Walker, Mark Faulkner and Huey Tran; before succumbing to the notion that "All players had played well."

Final Score: Ingle Farm 11, Bosna 0
