ROUND 12
INGLE FARM vs MODBURY VISTA
WALKLEY PARK

INGLE FARM C's CLOCK UP THIRD WIN IN A ROW
Bottom placed Modbury Vista visited us today at Walkley Park, where a 90 km gale was blowing down the ground.
We all rocked up at 10:30am - but had to wait for coach Dunstall (who rocked up at 11:05) with the kit! Only change to the team was Tuyen who was relegated from the Reserves - for getting TOO MUCH game time.
We had just enough time to walk on to the pitch before referee Perkins blew his whistle to start the game.
We kicked off up hill and into the 90km gale. Another great defensive effort kept the Vista team to long shots, none of which actually hit the target. We looked to control the game but never really threaten to score as we pushed the ball around.
Then injuries strike. Cookie goes off with a twisted ankle and Dazza cops one in the face and ends up with a broken nose!
We regroup as coach Dunstall comes on and we hold out for a 0 - 0 half time score.
Going down hill we start to pepper the goals then a nice move by Josh McQueen who crosses the ball for Vman to score from 6 yards.
Five minutes later its 3 - 0 as two great crosses from Alex Bautista sees Vman score his 2nd and 3rd with quality headers. The Vista keeper was keeping them in the game with some great saves, or was it poor shot selection?
Coach Dunstall has to drag Vman as he's scoring too many goals and Drogba comes on. We seem to lose some momentum and the game ends up as another 3 - 0 win.
We had a lot of the ball today and some of our passing was top drawer, but we failed to take many of our chances when they came our way, which could have given us an even better result.
Lee "Bartez" Martindale kept his 2nd clean sheet (more stories to tell his grand childrens' grand children) and he was more concerned with the heckling from behind the goals than he was with the Vista shots.
Another good team effort as we march toward top spot, but still with hard games to come. No game this week so a chance to give our injured players a have a break. Well done to Darren Bancroft who played on bravely in the second half to contribute to the final result.
Special mention to Cookie who donated 2 match balls to the C's and came out in his new bling bling golden boots, but where have our ORANGES gone???
Coach Dunstall looked dazed and was heard to say " I thought we kicked off 12:00 today!"
Thanks to Lee "Poll" Perkins for reffing and allowing both Alex and Edwin to stay on the park for the whole game
PS .. numerous queries about crowd favourite Jason "Muster" Ogden, he had a cold, and a sick note from his mum.
Good luck to A's and B's for this weeks CUP ROUND.
