B TEAM MATCH REPORT

ROUND 3
BOSNA VS INGLE FARM
FAWK RESERVE
SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 2006

Ingle Farm fought hard in the Reserves game to hold Bosna to a 1-1 draw. Although it is a disappointing result on paper, Farm probably didn't do too badly as they had to contend with a 'home' referee as well as the opposition players.

Bosna's club referee and linesman frustrated spectators, coaches and players with some bias decision making, which at times appeared to make it 11 against 13.

However Farm could only blame themselves as they quashed three fine opportunities in the final minutes to end the match as a draw.

Farm opened the match quite well, enjoying more possession as the home team appeared lethargic and slow to get going.

This was the first match for Farm's newest-signing, Jarrad Rich, a young striker with good skill, who has arrived at the club after previously playing at Playford and Para Hills U23's.

Rich opened the scoring for Farm in the 35th minute when he smashed home a loose ball in Bosna's 18 yard box. Bosna 0, Ingle Farm 1.

Half Time: Bosna 0 Ingle Farm 1.

After the break, Bosna were unlucky not to equalize when a long-range shot hit the crossbar and rebounded onto the line then away.

However Bosna did get their equalizer minutes later when in the 55th minute a Farm defensive error led to Bosna finding the top of the net. Bosna 1 Ingle Farm 1

The remaining time in the second half turned out to be a good old fashioned arm-wrestle. Both teams had opportunities to score, but continually missed the target.

Farm in the second half did not play as well as in the first. Defensively they looked vulnerable. To be fair to Farm's strikers, the linesman did not help with any progress as players became increasingly frustrated.

Reserves coach, Brian Toomer lamented "It was a disappointing result. They weren't a very good team and it should have been three points that we picked up today."

The draw drops Farm down to 4th position in Division 2B after three matches.

Final Score: Bosna 1, Ingle Farm 1
