2006 SEASON - saasl division 9

C TEAM MATCH REPORT

ROUND 3
MODBURY VISTA VS INGLE FARM
WYNN VALE
SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 2006

Ingle Farm C's drove up the Golden Way to visit Modbury Vista.

We enjoyed the luxury of playing on the big pitch which was looking a treat as again the sun shone overhead. Again a full squad of 14 with Bling Bling returning after concussion and our own "Ronaldo" Edwin, opting to play rather than ref this week, and the luxury of having Richard in goals. Brendan still missing in action, studying for his P's now.

The Vista side, which seemed to have more players over 40 than we did, kicked off and looked a bit unsure from the start. We dominated play putting 3 or 4 passes together only for the final pass to go astray as were our first 4 shots on goal.

Then finally good work by Bling Bling to beat the defender and cross in front of the keeper for Golden Boots Cookie to tap in from 5 yards. 1-0.

We looked very good in the middle of the park but still failed to capitalize on our possession. With Belly cheering us on from the side lines I picked the ball up inside my own half and after going past 3 players found my self approaching the keeper. Rather than pass back, I decided to shoot and tucked it in the bottom corner to make it 2-0 - to the rapture of players and supporters - showed the forwards how its done.

Half Time: Modbury Vista 0, Ingle Farm 2.

We were slow to wake up in the second half and Neil hit the post from 18 yards, but it was his own post, great shot but wrong end. Then a lapse and with their only real attack Vista scored to make it 2-1, and we looked shocked.

Our fitness told in the last 15 minutes as we came back to life and goals to Vman, Cookie and a 1 yard tap in for Bling Bling (finally), gave us a very respectable 5-1 win. Apart form a 15 minute lapse, we really dominated Vista and with our scoring boots on, could have won by more.

Another pleasing display to get our season back on track and increase our goal difference. All played well, especially Edwin, Cookie, Vman and Lee along with a 15 minute cameo by Coach Dunstall.

Coach was heard to say "Did anyone watch Hawthorn on Friday?"

Final score: Modbury Vista 1, Ingle Farm 5.
