C TEAM MATCH REPORT
ROUND 5
INGLE FARM vs TEA TREE GULLY
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, MAY 7, 2006
The Ingle Farm C team lost its second game of the season going down 5-2 against Tea Tree Gully City at Walkley Park Sunday morning. Wet and windy conditions greeted the two teams along with a heavy waterlogged pitch .
A squad of 14 was on hand but no keeper, no ref, no linesman and no gloves. So we had to
sacrifice Edwin to go Ref and have our reserves had to run the line. Brendan Fagan
volunteered to do the first half in goal with no Richard Bales.
Farm's defence was under the pump from the outset. Gully eventually scored after 10 minutes - giving Brendan no chance. 0-1.
Then a lapse at the back post and it was 0-2 and heads were starting to drop.
After conceding two goals, Farm finally woke up and started to look like a team that is challenging for the league title. The team enjoyed a fine 20 minute spell of possession creating several good changes, and finally a goal from a Vinnie Evans free kick. 1-2.
Half Time Ingle Farm 1, Tea Tree Gully 2
Half time and Scotty Dunstall gives us the flogging we deserve. A few changes and Danny Marotti volunteers to go in goals for the second half (he wont do that again in a hurry!)
Not long after the restart its 1-3 after Danny's attempt at a clearance hits the TTG forward and
rebounds into the net from out side 18 yards!
Then 1-4 as Gully beat the offside trap and round the keeper Marotti easily.
We pull one back via a penalty to go 2-4 and look a chance of pulling off a draw, but it was not to be as we leak another goal in defence resulting in a 5th and Farm go down 2-5.
Tea Tree Gully have always been one of our bogey teams and the loss puts a dent in our title hopes.
The pitch was in pretty good condition after the overnight floods and could not blame it for
the score line.
Good first up performance by Daniel Giorgetti (who wont be in the C's for long), while the rest of us had an off day.
Special thanks to Edwin Bautista for giving up his shirt to referee the game for the second time this year. I hear on the grapevine Lee Perkins will be refereeing the C Team matches for now on this season, which removes home matchday headaches for the club.
Final Score: Ingle Farm 2, Tea Tree Gully 5.
