ROUND 7
INGLE FARM vs FULHAM
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, MAY 28, 2006
Ingle Farm enjoyed their 5th win of the season when they solidly won 3-1 over 5th placed Fulham today at Walkley Park.
Farm included David Ennis, who was back after injury and regained Mario Staltari who was back after suspension. Peter Bria was sent back to the Reserves while Barry Fitzharris was suspended for this fixture.
Farm opened the scoring 5 minutes in when David Ennis set up Mario Staltari who put the ball away from 6 yards. 1-0 to Farm.
However 3 minutes later Fulham replied as a weak Farm clearance was seized upon and put away from 10 yards out. 1-1.
The score remained 1-1 until half time.
After the break, Fulham were unlucky as they hit the crossbar with a long range shot. The rebound then fell to a Fulham player who killed yet another koala with his goal attempt.
Farm regained the lead in the 70th minute when Anthony Staltari set up Torsten Rutter who made no mistake from 10 yards. 2-1 to Farm.
Ten minutes later Farm extended their lead to 3-1. Torsten Rutter was taken down by the Fulham keeper inside the box, a penalty being awarded. Ricky Simpson put the spot kick away for Farm.
Five minutes from the end, a Fulham midfielder was shown a red card for a shocking challenge on Rutter. While he did the striker no damage, the Fulham player was shown a straight red.
Reasonable performance from the 1st team today. The team did enough to win the match against average opposition. Good performances came from Martin Lara, Torsten Rutter, Mario Staltari and David Ennis.
The win kept Farm on top of the league - 1 point leaders over East after 7 rounds.
Final Score: Ingle Farm 3, Fulham 1
