THANKYOU MODBURY VISTA SOCCER CLUB
18 / 3 / 2007
Ingle Farm got a nice surprise from local rival Modbury Vista today when we arrived at Wynn Vale.
The Modbury Vista boys had decided that they would donate the takings from their BBQ from today to the Liam Powney fundraising cause that has been highlighted on this site.
A big crowd was on hand at Wynn Vale, and we all at red meat all day like it was going out of fashion.
All up Modbury Vista Soccer Club donated $300 for the cause, a wonderful gesture by them. Full marks to the local club for iniative and thoughtfulness.
In a presentation made after the match, Ingle Farm Head Coach received the $300 cash from Modbury Vista coach Billy Graves. (see picture below.)
The total of the fundraising now totals around $1000 for the Powney family, who are expected to receive the monies this week through Farm chairman, Jason Walker.
The money no doubt will help Gavin and his family with some outstanding bills and maybe even a nice dinner for the stressed couple.
It has been a tremendous effort by the wider community in the region to help this family's cause, the Settlers Tavern and RM Williams Clothing also donated prizes that were raffled off.
Ingle Farm Soccer Club thanks everybody that contributed.
Well done everyone.
