2009 PRESENTATION NIGHT A SUCCESS
6 /10/2009 Just
over 100 people attended Ingle Farm's $85 per head formal event that
was held at Sferas Modbury. It was a good night with plenty of drinks
flowing during the evening. There was a buoyant mood with most still in
party mode from the SAASL Cup win the Sunday previous.

INGLE FARM: 2009 BIANCO CUP WINNERS
23/9/2009

Ingle
Farm Soccer Club won its most significant trophy thus far in its club
history when they defeated Elizabeth Downs 2-0 in the Bianco Cup Final
at Hindmarsh Stadium yesterday.
Captain Chris Ennis held the trophy aloft at
the presentation after the match that sent the club into serious party
mode. One might say the clubroom was chock-a-block so much so people
couldn't get inside the clubroom as the celebrating crowd gathered
outside. They were still at it into the wee hours by all reports.
This followed a tight tough game that was
opened up in the 73rd minute when Paul Jones sent the green and white
army into histerics with a well taken goal after breaking free. Farm
keeper Robbie Greenwood made 2 important saves after this to keep his
teams advantage before Torsten Rutter broke away to settle the dispute
in the 85th minute when he squeezed the ball over the line for a 2-0
scoreline.
It was quite a performance by the whole club
on the day, the "Farmy Army" gave the lads a big lift with a tremendous
support bellowing the club song among other chants and encouragement..
The coaches got their strategies right and the players were switched on
from the start.
Might wait for Paul Jones to write us a more detailed match report ..
INGLE FARM UNDER 18's also won their
Cup Final at Hindmarsh yesterday. Ingle Farm Under18's defeated Tea
Tree Gully Under 18's 2-1 to make it an impressive double for Ingle
Farm. Hopefully we will get some more information sent through about
the game, maybe even a photo or two.
Stand by for more Junior results soon.
FARM WIN SEMI FINAL - WE'RE OFF TO HINDMARSH !!!
14/9/2009 A
Dominant performance by Ingle Farm over Saturday League Runners Up BOSA
yesterday saw them advance into the Bianco Cup Final that will be
played at Hindmarsh Stadium in two weeks. Chris Ennis was the hero with
a beautiful curling free kick in the 40th minute that eventually gave
Farm a 1-0 win in difficult conditions at League Headquarters, Grange.
Into a gusty wind, Farm missed countless
chances during the second half and that probably resulted in making
life a little difficult for themselves in the final few minutes. But
the back three defended stoutly with Anthony Staltari, Michael Clarke
and Ennis doing some terrific work. In fact every Ingle Farm player
contributed really well yesterday that must please coach Paul Simpson.
Farm will face Elizabeth Downs at Hindmarsh Stadium on Sunday 27th September from 4:30pm - more details to follow.
INGLE FARM RESERVES crashed out of
the cup for the first time in 4 years when they were defeated by
Saturday 2nd Division Reserves team Iggies 2-1.
Farm took the early lead after Jarrad Rich
belted a shot onto the bar before Jamie Porter followed up well to slot
the ball home. However 10 minutes before half time Farm conceded a
penalty that saw Iggies draw level.
In the second half Iggies were awarded a
penalty that was brilliantly saved by Farm keeper Michael Francken
before a good strong run was made from midfield and a through ball
found the Iggies player who finished well from 12 yards.
Iggies did have several 1st team players in
their team and that is the unfortunate thing for Farm this season with
both its 1st team and Reserves at the Semi Final stage.
THE OVER 35's was the team I felt
sorry for. Playing against a mix of Brahma Lodge's C Team and O/35's,
Steve Paterson was brilliant during the first half smashing the ball
into the crossbar twice, then you had Peter Bria missing several
chances in front of goal (not that that is anything unusual.) (:P)
Johnny Miller and the Farm goalkeeper got it
horribly wrong just short of halftime when between them they conceded
an own goal. It was a terrible effort that really put the team under
pressure for the rest of the match.
Paul Townsend and Peter King both had good
games in midfield, Paterson and Bria had their moments up front and
Bancroft did some good things down the flank. Other than that there
wasn't much to write home about as the O/35's eventually lost 4-1 to
Brahma Lodge.
INGLE FARM RESERVES LEAGUE CHAMPIONS - BACK TO BACK
8/9/2009 Ingle
Farm Reserves steal the headlines this week as they thumped Parafield
Gardens 8-1 to win the Sunday Premier B League, for the second
consecutive year running, last Sunday at Bradman Oval. Stars of the
show had to be Anthony Martini and Jarrad Rich who both netted 4 goals
each. Everyone played well and were switched on from the start as the
lads hammered home 5 first half goals in an awesome performance.
ANTO'S MATCH REPORT THRU HERE
L-R: Jarrad Rich, The
Colonel, Fernando Lara, Boo Robertson, Leon Hannessen, Cameron Hawkins,
Pierre Smiff, Eddie MacGuire, Marty Lara, Mark Bromly, Graham Elrick,
Mark Faulkner, Jamie Porter, Anto Martini, Andy Lynn(c), Lloyd
Townsend, Big Billy Brownless, Duy Tran, Shannon Baxter, Chris Brooker,
Michael Francken, Nick Philipou. And ah yes, that's right folks, Ron Sparks got into another photo.
In other games, the first team continued its late season form with a
3-1 win over lowly Parafield Gardens in a what was a dead rubber, while
our C Team even had a win.. 3-0 over a thin Gardens C Team. A TEAM MATCH REPORT THRU HERE
Most lads and their families headed back to
the club for some food and a few drinks from 6pm - thankyou to those
that did. There was only a mild celebration amongst the Reserves lads
on the night - I guess they have unfinished business.
Must say a big thanks to Simo, Julie-Anne,
Trevor Bradbrook and Cookie for organizing and serving up the fabulous
chicken wings during the day/night. The club really appreciates your
efforts.
All in all - a good day for the club.
HOME LOSS TO FLORINA ENDS FARM'S TITLE HOPES
24/8/2009 There
was genuine disappointment after today's final home match for the
season from our first team players as our lads went down 3-2 that ended
the 1st Team's slight title hopes. The loss saw Farm drop to 4th
position on the ladder with only two away games against Fulham and
Parafield Gardens remaining in league fixtures before Farm kick off a
Cup Semi Final assault.
Salisbury
Florina look sure to win the 2009 Sunday Premier League title after
their big win at Walkley Park with just the two games left in the
season, a 6 point lead and a +10 goal difference over 2nd-placed Downs.
The
First Team game was in many ways similar to the reverse fixture earlier
this season. Kicking with a strong breeze, Florina took the lead after
just 20 seconds before adding a second goal 15 minutes later. Farm
answered with a goal of their own through a sensational header from
Chris Ennis before Florina again scored to extend their lead to 3-1 at
the break.
Farm
scored a minute into the second half, but despite having a lot of the
ball during the second half, were unable to add to their earlier
efforts.
The
Reserves game was a tough, tense match from 1pm. 0-0 at half time, the
boys came out firing in the second half belting home 4 goals with some
terrific passages of play. The win maintains Farm's 3 point lead over
2nd-placed Downs with 2 matches remaining in the season. A big match
coming up this week away at Fulham for our Reserves.
The
Farm C Team played very well as they upset Division 8 top team
Salisbury Florina C's 2-0. The lads grabbed an early lead through an
impressive strike from Kanu before Smiffy doubled the lead 5 minutes
later with a well taken shot direct from a corner. All the lads played
well for the home team in a complete team performance.
The Club would like to thank the Florina supporters and players for using our BBQ, canteen and bar during the day. Cheers boys.
Finally
the club would also like to thank all supporters who have been great in
coming to Walkley Park all season to cheer the Ingle Farm lads on. We
appreciate every single one of you and hope to see you at some of our
home games next season.
FARM DEFEAT PARA HILLS WEST AWAY
16/8/2009 Ingle Farm Soccer Club had its two senior teams have fine wins away at Para Hills West this today at Manor Farm Oval.
The
First Team scored two second half goals to overcome Para Hills West's
first team. Paul Jones was instrumental in setting both goals up for
Farm. Players to do well for Farm included Cox, Clark, Jones, Simpson
and the Ennis brothers. Final score: Farm 2 West 0.
The
Reserves scored late in the second half through young substitute Nick
Philipou after some good work by Anthony Martini down the left. Tran,
Paul Francken, Mark Faulkner and Lloyd Townsend all did well for the
Reserves today. Final score: Farm 1 West 0.
1ST TEAM & RESERVES BOTH THRU TO SEMI FINALS OF CUP
11/8/2009
Ingle
Farm Soccer Club had two terrific results last weekend at Walkley Park
when both teams managed tomove through to the final 4 of the their
respective cup competitions. It is the first time ever our 1st Team
have made it this far - while the Reserves will play in their 4th
successive Semi Final down at League Headquarters, Grange, on Sunday
the 13th of September - after the final round of the league proper.
In
the 1st Team game, Farm brilliantly fought back from being 3-1 down to
Southern Knights at half time to eventually level the score at 3-3 with
just 5 minutes to go of regulation time. Farm overpowered Southern
Knights during extra time to win the tie 4-3. Chris Ennis was again
Farm's saviour with a timely brace to lead his team to victory.
In
the Reserves, Sean Robertson's 80th minute winner capped off a fine
game by the young Farm player that lead his team to a hard fought 1-0
win over St Peters Reserves.
Unfortunately
Dads Army bowed out of the Over 35's Cup when they lost to a loaded Tea
Tree Gully team 5-2 away at Tea Tree Gully.
The
C Team played a catch up game against Salisbury Inter and lost 2-0 -
but did very well considering they only had 9 men on the pitch for the
entire match. Well done lads.
FARM BEATEN AT HOME BY BOTTOM-PLACED USC LION
3/8/2009
Ingle
Farm continued its woeful run of league results when they lost 2-3 to
bottom-placed USC Lion at home today. It is Lion's 2nd win for the
entire season and their first result since Round 1 when they defeated
Pontian Eagles 5-2. Farm have now just gained 2 points from a possible
12 in its past 4 league matches - notably against the league's bottom 4
ranked teams, effectively ending any title hopes.
Ingle Farm Reserves had a 5-0 win over bottom-placed USC Lion Reserves. The win keeps Farm's Reserves top of their league.
Ingle Farm C Team were flattered by a 2-1 loss to USC Lion C Team. Shannon Baxter had a good game for Farm in goal.
And
Dads Army scored a superb 4-0 away win against the Modbury Vista Over
35's. Graeme Scott and Darren Bancroft (2) were the goalscorers before
bloody Towner scored again. Talk after the match was how "fat" Kingy is
getting in his old age.
FARM GO DOWN TO PONTIANS
26/7/2009
Ingle
Farm slumped to it lowest point of the season loosing to the relegation
battling Pontian Eagles in a very tough and physical encounter. The
Farm started off pushing the ball well and some beautiful one touch
football saw the ball be headed into the back of the net by David
Eggers. It would seem a steam role of goals were coming as the Farm was
on top of Pontians and pushing for another goal. To Pontian’s credit,
there resilience and persistence was forcing silly turnovers by the
Farm players and it was an intercepted Chris Ennis pass which fell to
the feet of the unmarked Pontians striker, Paradiso (I think), who was
lucky to still be on the pitch after clearly elbowing Clarky in the
head in front of the referee and the lineman, found himself one-on-one
with Robbie Greenwood and slotted the ball nicely into the net. The
tempo of the game changed and Pontians started to push the ball around
well as they appeared to have the better of the Farm for the remainder
of the half. The second half started similar to the first with the Farm
missing a clear chance to go ahead. Unfortunately Pontians broke the
offside trap and the unmarked Paradiso, who was having a field day up
front and by far Pontian’s BOG, cleverly squared the ball for the
Pontian’s right midfielder to slot into the open net. The Farm put the
metal to the pedal and pushed all it had for the equalizer but Pontians
defended very well to keep the Farm at bay a record a hard fought
victory. The loss make it very difficult to catch Florina and the
Downs, but if we cast our thoughts back 2006 when we won the league
after being 8 points back then anything is possible with 5 games to go.
So heads up boys, it ain’t over yet.
The
Farms Reserves continued on there merry way and are back on top after a
good 3-2 victory. The first half saw the Farm dominate play for the
first 15 minutes as they knocked the ball around very well. Pontians
were starting to settle into the game when they scored a very well
worked goal to go 1-0 up. Although 1-0 down the Farm were still on top
and pushing the ball round very well, several miss chances would see
the Farm walk in at half time down instead of 4-1 up. None the less,
the Argentinean marvel, Fernando Lara, was introduced into the game and
in 8 minutes of football he turned the game on its head. First through
a simple tap into to make it 1-1, then a sensational turn and hit 15
yards out to make it 2-1, and then a well contrived back heel seemed to
be heading for Fernando’s hartick before Mark Bromerly stole the
accolades and tapped the ball into the net virtually on the goal line.
The Farm probably should have scored another 4 or 5 in the half as
several chances were missed. Pontians got a late consolation goal
through a defensive mix up but the Farm was too strong and took the
victory and top spot. Well done boys.
The C Team won on forfeit.
Dads Army beat PHW B O/35 Team 1-0.
TWO HOME GAMES FOR CUP QUARTER FINALS
23/7/2009
Ingle Farm Soccer Club will host 2 matches on Sunday 9th of August where the club has drawn two home ties in the cup round.
In the Amateur League Challenge Cup, Ingle Farm 1st Team has drawn Sunday Division 2 club, Southern Knights.
In the Reserve Cup, Ingle Farm Reserves have drawn Saturday Premier Team, St Peters Reserves.
1ST TEAM EARN LATE DRAW AGAINST INTER
19/7/2009
Ingle
Farm Soccer Club has to be content with second place in the Sunday
Premier League after 12 Rounds when they were a little unlucky to be
held to a 1-1 draw at Walkley Park today.
Inter took a shock lead early in the second half before they were
overpowered by a determined effort from our lads to bring the score
level through Dave Ennis before Torsten Rutter hit the crossbar from 5
yards with a sharp header in the dying seconds.
Farm
certainly had the better of the play all day in windy conditions and
the boys can hold their heads high having completely outplayed their
opponents. Good performances came from Rutter, Dave Ennis and Ricky
Simpson.
Ingle
Farm Reserves seemed to suffer most from Friday Nights strip night
bender as they went down 2-1 to Inter's Reserve Team in the 1pm match.
Inter looked the better team for most of the match as our lads really struggled to overcome a 2-0 deficit at half time.
EDIT:
Er I need to correct, as I am receiving facebook pressure, that Cameron
Hawkins didn't score, rather loyal Port supporter, Jamie Porter scored
the second half goal for Farm but Inter defended very well and deserved
their win.
Well
well, who has heard the name Jason Ogden before ?? It seems we have a
new Over 35's goalscoring machine, I hear reports of a 30 yard strike
that baffled the Brahma Lodge keeper. Top that one Jason Walker!! What
a way to celebrate your 40th birthday!! Good onya Jas.. Ogden's super
strike helped Dads Army defeat Brahma Lodge Over 35's 4-1. Well done
lads.
1ST TEAM, RESERVES THRU TO QUARTER FINALS OF CUP
12/7/2009
Ingle
Farm's 1st Team defeated Saturday Premier League team Stirling 1-0 to
advance into the quarter finals of the Amateur League Cup. Chris Ennis
scored a second half header that separated the two teams after 90
minutes at Walkley Park.
Triple-Defending
Reserve Cup Champions Ingle Farm Reserves had a fine 1-0 win over
Adelaide Villa's Reserve Team that featured several well known players
from Villa's first team. It was a super effort from all players that
was topped only by a sizzling 30 yards strike from defender Paul
Francken that was the eventual winning goal for the home team.
Both teams move into the quarter finals that are scheduled for the weekend of the 8th & 9th of August.
No Match Reports this weekend as we give our hardworking columnists (lol) a week off during cup matches.
FARM HELD TO DRAW BY VALE
28/6/2009
Ingle
Farm's 1st Team will be kicking themselves as they missed a big chance
to sit top of the table when they were held to a 1-1 draw against a
young Elizabeth Vale team today away at Mofflin Road.
Farm took an early lead through Chris Ennis before conceding a scappy
goal midway into the first half. Farm then missed several excellent
chances in front of goal before half time that seemed to take the wind
out of them. Full credit must go to Vale in the second half however as
their young team really battled giving away few chances and creating a
few themselves. Good performances came from Chris Ennis, Michael Clarke
and Barry Fitzharris.
It
will certainly feel like a loss to our first team, however they seemed
a little flat today - maybe a bit of a "Hawthorn Hangover" after last
week's big win. That being said.. Downs today defeated Gardens 3-2 with
a late winner that leapfrogged them into first place, with Farm just 1
point behind after 11 matches.
Better
news for Farm's Reserves who shot to the top of the Sunday Premier B
League with a solid 5-1 win over Vale's Reserves. Birthday Boy Cameron
Hawkins (21 today!) scored an impressive hat-trick while Andy Lynn and
Jamie Porter were the other goalscorers. Good performances came from
Paul Francken, Andy Lynn, Sean Robertson and Hawkins.
And
some fun and games in the C Team game earlier today. Farm Goalkeeper
Shannon Baxter learnt how long 6 seconds is (its actually 4 seconds
according to the watch of Vale referee, Eddie ..) Earlier, new signing
"Kanu II" knocked in his first goal for the club before Nick Philipou
banged home Farm's second just before half time.
Then
Jason Walker struck fear into hearts all over the world as mumourings
of hell freezing over became apparent - yes that's right folks, Jason
Walker scored a bloody goal. Yes indeed, the second-worst shot in the
club behind Mr Bean actually knocked it into onion bag, not wide, nor
high, not miskicked, shanked or sliced, it was a cracker, fully 20
yards out, under pressure, superb strike, right in the sweet spot.
There is however a possibility that Walker was mildly concussed
from an earlier challenge, so it might have been a fluke, oh lets face
it, it was a fluke. Not if we set you up with 20 balls on a training
night would one of those go in again. Anyway the Walker goal was the
all important third in a 4-1 win. I am now at peace.
Stand in sweeper Tim Walker, Jacob Ralph and Brendan Fagan all did well for our C Team while Josh McQueen runs like a girl.
Dads Army lost 4-2 away at MC Woodpeckers - expect write ups from all these games in the next few days.
FARM DEFEAT TOP TEAM DOWNS AND MOVE SECOND TOP!
28/6/2009
Ingle
Farm's 1st Team defeated Elizabeth Downs for the first time in 4 years
- since returning to the top flight - that moved the 1st team up to 2nd
place in the Sunday Premier League. A fine turnout of supporters were
there for the big match, and Ingle Farm Soccer Club would like to thank
the Downs Army for supporting our BBQ and bar today.
In
the 1st team match, Paul Jones (2 goals) along with Chris Ennis scored
the goals that gave Farm a 3-1 lead before Downs pulled back a
consolation goal at the death. Jubilant Farm players celebrated after
the game with a bellowing rendition of the club song. It was a great
effort by all Farm players with special mention to Barry Fitzharris,
Paul Jones, Chris Ennis, Michael Clarke, Ricky Simpson, Dave Ennis,
Dave Eggers and Lee Cockerill - who was playing against his former
club. Downs keeper Ben Aldridge was awarded the "Thorn in the side" by
Farm coach Paul Simpson.
Downs
Chairman Billy Duncan presented Farm coach Paul Simpson with the Rite
Price Cup - a cup based on the two clubs having the same sponsor along
with a friendly rivalry. It of course is the first time we have had it
on display in our clubrooms.
Ingle
Farm B Team were held to a 1-1 draw with Downs Reserves in the 1:10pm
match. The draw saw Salisbury Inter Reserves leapfrog Farm into 1st
position with Farm sitting second. Paul Francken and Fernando Lara were
named best players by B Team coach, Billy Graves. Jarrad Rich converted
a penalty to be Farm's only goalscorer.
Ingle
Farm C Team fought back from being 2-0 down to eventually draw with
Down's C Team 2-2. It was a better performance by Jason Walker's young
team, still with plenty more room for improvement. Another fine
performance by young Farm midfielder Jacob Ralph was a highlight while
Walker named Chris Duncan as his best for the day. Goalscorers for the
C's was Jacob Ralph and Pierre "Smith."
Dads Army were a little disappointed to let their early lead slip
as they eventually drew with Para Hills West A 2-2. Haven't heard much
on goalscorers - possibly this means Towner didn't score- but all the
same not a bad result for our Over 35 Team.
CAPTAIN ENNIS LEADS FARM TO LATE WIN AT WALKLEY PARK
21/6/2009
Ingle
Farm defeated Parafield Gardens 1-0 in today's Round 9 fixture of the
Sunday Premier League with an 87th minute scrambled goal by Chris Ennis
today. The big centre half lead by example all day as he marshalled his
troops to hold out quite a good Parafield Gardens outfit before icing
the cake at the death.
Other
Farm players to do well included Paul Jones, Ricky Simpson, David Ennis
and Robbie Greenwood - who in particular made some sensational saves
today that frustrated Gardens throughout the match.
Ingle
Farm Reserves shot to the top of Sunday Premier B League with a
fighting 3-2 win over Gardens Reserves in the 1:10pm match. Cameron
Hawkins lead the way with two well taken goals but best player was
awarded to sweeper Graham Elrick for another fine display.
Ingle
Farm C Team played poorly today and were easily beaten 2-1 by Gardens C
Team. Brendan Fagan and young Jacob both played well for Farm.
And Dads Army had another win - 3-2 away at Modbury Jets ASC.
ALL THREE TEAMS THRU IN CUP, C'S HAVE FINE WIN
15/6/2009
All Ingle Farm Soccer Club's teams in the cup were all able to move thru to the next round yesterday.
The 1st Team had an easy 4-1 win away over 2nd Division Munno Para.
All goals were scored in the first half before Farm were content with
defending their lead in the second half. Most of the Farm players
played well with special mention to Dave Eggers who was especially
efficient cleverly setting up a couple of goals. Others to do well
included Torsten Rutter, Anthony Ragazzo, Paul Jones, Dave Ennis, Chris
Ennis, Michael Clarke and Wade Dingle.
The
Reserves won their home tie 7-3 over Brahma Lodge Reserves. Heard young
Chris Brooker managed to get on the scoresheet which is some more good
news for the club as another young Ingle Farm player takes strides in
his game.
The
C Team played a "home" catchup game away at Mofflin Road where the lads
easily overcame Elizabeth Vale C's 5-0. Vahid Rahmani scored an
impressive hat-trick for Farm to lead the team to victory.
Another promising Ingle Farm youngster, Nick Philipou, enjoyed one
of his best games for the club, and is beginning to fulfil his
potential as a future player for the club. Consistant midfielder Jamie
Porter also played very well as did young goalkeeper Shannon Baxter who
again had a fine game with another clean sheet brought about by some
fine saves.
The result moves Jason Walker's young team up to 3rd position on the Division 8 ladder.
And
Dads Army scraped through to the next round of the Over 35 Cup, over
coming Modbury Jets ASC 3-2. Steve Paterson scored a brace for the home
team.
IAN RUSH DINNER
15/6/2009
A
few of the refined Ingle Farm gentleman from the club along with Dave
Eggers and Paul Jones attended Sferas last Thursday Night for a meet
and greet with Liverpool's famous number 9, Ian Rush. It was a good
night had by all, but as you may guess from these photos, it was all
you could drink piss.
It would be fair to say that the free drinks were flowing quite well, judging by the photos thru this link... http://www.footballnews.com.au/gallery/v/ianrush2/slideshow.html
Doesn't Jonesy come out of his shell after having 4 beers !!! Also
watch out for "half a glass" Scotty Gannon and "half a keg" Billy
Graves on stage making a fool of themselves. (for best viewing select
picture size "no limit" and the duration "5 seconds")
One of the funniest moments of the night had to be silent assassin
1st Team player Lee Cockerill getting hold of Jonesy's Liverpool scarfe
during the night and taking it upon himself (to save Jonesy having to
wait in line) to sign his Liverpool scarfe "IAN RUSH" in black texta -
probably be fair to say that Jonesy wasn't too happy about it.
DADS ARMY ENJOY BIG WIN
10/6/2009
While
all Farm's other teams took a well deserved week off, Ingle Farm Soccer
Club's Over 35 Team defeated Modbury Jets Old Boys 8-1 in their Round 6
fixture at the weekend.
ALL FOUR FARM TEAMS HAVE WIN
1/6/2009
Ingle
Farm Soccer Club enjoyed a perfect weekend with all four of its teams
having wins in their Sunday SAASL divisions yesterday.
Ingle
Farm's 1st Team moved back up to 4th position on the Sunday Premier
League Ladder after they battled to a 3-1 win in the main game at
Walkley Park. Farm Captain Chris Ennis emerged the hero with two fine
headers in the second half to lead his team to victory after Dave
Eggers had given the early advantage during the 1st half. Farm keeper
Robbie Greenwood made some important great saves during the first half
after Anthony Staltari had a penalty saved.
The
Reserves had a fine 3-1 victory over 4th-placed Fulham Reserves and now
just sit one point behind the leader in their league. Jarrad Rich was
amongst the goalscorers for Farm.
The C Team had a comfortable 3-0 win over Fulham C's. Young Chris Brooker was the best player on the park for our C's.
And
Brian Toomer reported that his O/35 team missed countless chances
against Athelstone O/35's but came away easy victors 3-0 away at
Athelstone.Brian also wished to make mention of Edwin Bautista who was
good enough on short notice to come down and referee the game.
30/5/2009
Ingle
Farm's Quiz Night has been hailed a success. Well done to all of you
that attended, it was a good night with plenty of laughs.
Well
done to Jason Walker for putting on a good show. Big thanks to Trevor
who looked after the bar for most of the night .. even better he didn't
injure himself in the process.
Jarrad
Rich and Leon Hannessen's group won on the night. Only odd think was
Mark Bromoly's phone set to WLAN - surely the young fella wasn't
surfing GOOGLE all night collecting the answers ??
LATE FIGHTBACK NOT ENOUGH TO OVERCOME AWFUL START
24/5/2009
Farm
fought back from being 3 goals down to almost scrape up a draw against
Florina away at Underdown Park today. If not for Farm Goalkeeper Robbie
Greenwood, Farm could have gone in 4 or 5-0 at halftime in what could
only be described as a debacle opening 45 minutes. Farm's second half
was much improved as its fitness overpowered a tired looking Florina to
pull back two late goals along with missing several excellent chances
late in the game.
Ingle
Farm Reserves, led by evergreen Duy Tran, overcame an early Florina
goal to eventually overpower the home team 4-1 at Underdown Park in the
1pm match. Other good performances came from Paul Francken, Michael
Francken, Mark Faulkner and super striker ImAnOutlaw.
Jason Walker's C Team were missing a few regulars today and struggled against Florina's C Team - losing 3-0 in the process.
But
the Elephant Stamp Award (sorry big Davey) today went to Dads Army who
enjoyed a crushing 8-2 victory over Elizabeth Grove O/35's. Heard Steve
Paterson scored 4goals in a half before he went off to give somebody
else a kick. Towner was talking himself up after the match, so we
generally ignored him. Better news was that Mr Darren Bancroft managed
to run out a full game for the first time in.. well a very bloody long
time - albeit later limping his way to Florina's ground like mauled
lamb that had run into a pack of lions.
We have a First Team and Reserves
Match Report. Anyone that played C Team or D Team please contribute to
the club website. Gavin Powney has been unable to play this week for
Dads Army therefore we are lacking a report.
THURSDAY NIGHT HAPPY HOUR AND LUCKY DRAW TO RETURN

FARM GO DOWN FIGHTING TO WEST

The
Ingle Farm troops valiantly tried in vein to salvage a point against
the West but a game of missed chances and very average refereeing cost
the Farm the points. A devastating result for the boys, the Farm had a
lot of the possession and enough opportunities to win the game but
lacked the composure in front of goals to do the business.
The
Farm never gave up to the end but could not find the equalizer even
when both teams went down to 10 men. A gut wrenching loss for the club
and the deafening silence in the change room after the game can only
marginally describe the disappointment of the players and coaching
staff. The win certainly secures the West as title favorites as they
sit undefeated at the top of the table but the Farmers are only 4
points off the pace with plenty of games to go to close the margin.
The
Reserve shave bounced back from there atrocious start to the season as
they beat the West 2-0. Fernando Lara and Jarrad Rich scored goals
early in the first half to setup the game and take the three points. A
fantastic result which now puts the Farm 3 points from top. Not bad
considering we were lingering towards to the bottom of the table with 1
point after 3 rounds. For a minute there we all thought we had the
Hawks blues, hey Andy!!!!
The
C’s fought a good, tough 0-0 draw in slippery conditions. Unfortunately
we had a guy go down with a knee injury and our young keeper took a bad
knock which meant the club pres and coach, Jas “Eddie” Walking, had to
take the park and play myself upfront. The game clearly changed with his
presence (I don’t know if this was good or bad thing) and from that
point on a fairly even game in which a draw was a pretty fair result.
Both sides missed some easy chances though. The result puts the younger
Farmers mid-table two points drift from the top.
Dad’s
Army turned around two losses in the row to smash Tea Tree Gully 4-2
and rack up there first win of the season. A good result for the boys
who have in recent weeks struggled with injury to fill a team.
An
interesting bag of results for the club, great to see the Reserves back
in form, the C’s continue their good run, and Dad’s Army get there
first win but it was disappointing to have the first team go down the
way they did. Nevertheless, these games do happen and we must think
positive and look forward to next weeks battle with Florina. No doubt
the boys can bounce back from the disappointment.
Big
thanks to Anto for the report above (he wasn't even at the ground!)
(amazing stuff.. and his criticism of referees is second only to Simo
and Leggy) but I've finally got around to putting up Paul Jones' and
Gavin Powney's reports. I sincerely apologize for the delay lads and
appreciate both of your efforts in bringing us a report of your matches
every week. BTW.. if anyone wants to write a report of the Reserve and
C Team matches please feel free - the email address isifasc@hotmail.com
- it would be good to have all games reported on. And yes Jonesy I even
got some of the player profiles uploaded - appreciate it mate.
A's AND B's THROUGH TO SECOND ROUND OF THE CUP
11/5/2009
A’s: Ingle Farm 3 - 2 Plympton Bulldogs (AET - 2-2 after 90mins)
The
Farm fronted up against Plympton Bulldogs at home with a few players
rested due to injury or fatigue. With no players promoted from the
Ressies, as that squad was depleted as well, Simmo went with a small
squad which included a debut promotion for one of the clubs up and
coming young Farmers, Mark Bromoly. Mark has been playing out of his
socks the last few weeks in the C’s and has looked dynamite on the
training track with the big boys, so his promotion was no surprise.
Plympton took the lead against the run of play but Farm drew level just
before half time. Farm then took the lead early in the 2nd half only
for Plympton to draw level on 89mins. Plympton went down to 10 men
midway through the 1st period of extra time (2nd yellow) and just as
the tie looked to be going to penalties Farm grabbed the winner through
Eggers with about 5mins left.
A nail biting game for the supporters, but overall the Farm had the
most chances over the 120 minutes and probably deserved the win. A very
good performance from the Plympton Bulldogs and they should hold there
heads high for matching it with the big boys.
B’s: Ingle Farm Reserves 3 – 1 Elizabeth Grove Reserves
The
Farm Reserves traveled to Elizabeth Grove with a few players out due to
injuries, mother’s day or wood work classes. This gave Billy the
opportunity to promote some of the young Farmers from the C team.
From
the kick off the Farm seemed to have most of the possession but lacked
the fire power and composure to put the ball in the net at critical
times. It was a very hard fought game and the Grove put in right to the
end. To there credit, when the Grove was able to take possession they
seemed to move the ball round well but at times lacked the quality to
be dangerous. A very clean game overall, which was pleasing to see, but
the Farm probably should have walked away with a few more goals. 3-1
was enough and a good start for the defending champions.
Over 35’s: Ingle Farm O/35's 2 – 2 Modbury Jets O/35's
From
all accounts the game could have goneeither way, 2-2 in the first leg
away is a good result for the veterans. The return leg at home will
surely be a cracker.
FARM KNOCK 5 PAST LION TO END GRANGE HOODOO
3/5/2009
Ingle
Farm’s first team outplayed USC Lion all day to eventually win 5-0 at
Grange today. It was the Farm's first win over Lion away at Grange
since returning to Division 1, previously Farm surrendered a lead to
draw in 2007,before being thrashed there last season.
The
Farm had Lion under the pump from the kick off and controlled the game
from the offset. Paul Jones again had a cracker and scored his second
hatrick in two weeks. A good performance by all and the Farm will take
some good form into the cup round next week.
The
Reserves came back from being 2-1 down in the last 30 minutes to turn
the game around and win 5-2. Farm dominated most of the game but could
not put the ball in the net. Even when the boys went 2-1 down they were
still well on top and it was only matter of time before they took the
lead and the three points. It is good to see the boys back in winning
ways, lets hope this run of form continues against Westies in a
fortnight.
The C’s unfortunately had a few players pull out in the last minute but they still came away with a 2-2 draw.
Dad’s
Army went down 5-3 to Para Hills East. An entertaining game which saw
some good passages of football from both sides. The East took their
chances and the game. It was good to see Peter Bria back. Anto and Bria
constantly troubled the East defense and were unlucky to not have
scored more goals each. The East is defiantly a very good football side
and will be very hard to beat. My spies tell me Jumpin Joe Mullen
scored a hat-trick for the opposition.
A'S, B'S AND C'S WIN - DADS ARMY GET SMASHED
26/4/2009
Ingle
Farm's first team cruised to a 7-1 drubbing of bottom-placed Pontian
Eagles at Walkley Park today. It was a sensational all round
performance by all players in particular Paul Jones who wrote his name
all over the match as he did not stop running all game and earned
himself an impressive hat trick and the man of the match accolade.
It
is pleasing to report that Ingle Farm's Reserve Team had their first
win of the season as they thumped Pontian Eagles Reserves 9-0. The game
saw the return of Toasty to Farm and he stamped himself on the game by
setting up the first two goals and scoring two for himself before being
substituted at half time to sit on the bench for the first team.
The
second half was even better then the first, with another five
goals being smashed in the back of the net. Cameron scored the goal of
the day with a sensational scissor kick goal from 8 yards out.
After
failing to score in the first three games of the season, it was
great to seethe boys finally put some goals on the board, and as Billy
“Brownless”Graves pointed out to our webmaster Belly after the
game, they lads scoredalmost double what Port Adelaide got in goals
this week, we will not post Belly's response for censorship reasons.
Well done to the reserves and let’shope this kicks off their title
defense.
Jason
Walker's young C Team also enjoyed a fine win today, Jason tells me "we
were a bit lucky" but the boys put in a good performance to make it two
wins in a row.
Dads
Army are the heel of the club this weekend as they got smashed 5-1 away
at Elizabeth Vale. Mr. Bean played 60 minutes, justifying his
registration. Coach Brian Toomer was not pleased with the result.
INGLE FARM HAVE A GREAT WIN AGAINST SALISBURY INTER
19/4/2009
Ingle
Farm's first team had a solid 4-2 win over Salisbury Inter today at
Underdown Park. The Farm dominated the opening 45 minutes and were
unlucky to go in at half time scoreless. That quickly changed after the
break as the Farm smashed 4 goals in 20 minutes.
Inter did claw two goals back and had a few chances towards the end
of the game but the Farm were clearly the better team and dominated
most of the 90 minutes coming away deserving winners.
In the Early games, our Reserves went down 1-0. A 3rd minute Inter goal, bad refereeing and a rush of blood from Anto that saw him sent off for dissent in the 20th minute of the first half killed of the first 45minutes.
The Farm dominated the second half and you could have been mistaken
that Inter had 10 men as the Farm pushed everything forward to score.
Unfortunately we were unable to put the ball in the net, which
basically spells out our season so far.
The C’s recorded their first win for the season with a very good 2-1 victory. Well done to the boys for a good win.
The Over 35’s played there final trail match against Para Hill West before the season start next week. A 2-2 draw.
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL
10/4/2009
Ingle Farm has no games across the Easter break but training resumes as per usual on Tuesday 7pm sharp.
On behalf of the Ingle Farm committee we wish all players, members and supporters a Happy Easter.
FARM ENJOY FIRST WIN OF SEASON
5/4/2009
Ingle Farm defeated Elizabeth Vale 1-0 in one of those "ugly" wins today at Walkley Park to earn its first points of the season.
None other than our mate Anthony Staltari scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
The
Reserves again struggled, and have still not scored a goal in its two
games this season. 0-0 was the score against Vale's Reserves.
The
C Team played an internal trial, not too much to write home about
inthis one but Dad's Army won their trial against Modbury Jets O/35's
6-1. Someone even said Lee Perkins gave away a penalty! Huh, rumours.
FARM LOSE OPENER AGAINST DOWNS
29/3/2009
Ingle Farm Soccer Club lost all three games today out at Argana Park.
Warm conditions didn't help the teams as all players were tested in the difficult conditions.
The
First Team went down 3-2. The Reserves conceded a goal in the last 5
minutes to lose their match 1-0.. The C Team also conceded a last
minute goal to lose their match. However, at least the over 35's didn't
lose this weekend.. they didn't play.
STRONG COMMITTEE FORMED FOR 2009
8/11/2008
Ingle
Farm Soccer Club is pleased to announce it will have a nine-man
Committee for Season 2009 after the club held its AGM last Thursday
Night.
It's
great to have some new blood on Committee to help with the running of
the club. Good on those people who are prepared to devote some of their
spare time for the club each month. The positions voted at the AGM
were:
Chairman - Jason Walker
V/Chairman - Anthony Martini
Treasurer - Paul Hurst
Secretary - Robbie Bell
Head Coach - Paul Simpson
General Committee - Ted Beck
General Committee - Tim Walker
General Committee - Ricky Simpson
General Committee - Billy Graves
In
addition, current players Robbie Greenwood,Chris Groom, Trevor
Bradbrook and Paul Jones will be helping out in various small ways
which is richly appreciated. Julie-Anne Simpson, The O'Hara clan,
Robbie Paterson, Paul Lenny, Ron Sparks and Pop Newton also do terrific
things for the club on match days and at trainings. Committee could not
possibly get all these tasks done by themselves, so these people really
help to form a strong backbone for the club.
With
several major developments happening at the club next year (watchthis
space for announcements soon) the club is positively looking forward to
the 2009 Season.
CHRIS ENNIS WINS 2008 BAILETTI MEDAL
26/10/2008
Congratulations to Ingle Farm captain Chris Ennis who has been named the SAASL Division 1 Player of the Year for Season 2008.
The
towering centre-half enjoyed another superb season for Ingle Farm and
perhaps a more consistant year than last season's club best &
fairest / coaches award / players' player trifecta.
Ennis
pipped league top goalscorer Chris Nicholls of Elizabeth Vale SC by one
vote - as voted by the League Referee's.It is the first time an Ingle
Farm player has won the Bailetti Medal.
A
humble Chris Ennis said in a statement "Congratulations to Elizabeth
Vale on a fantastic year, looking forward to our tough games next year.
Also congratulations to Chris Nicholls on a great year being top goal
scorer and polling well. I always look forward to playing against him,
he's a top quality player and maybe should of won given the year the
Vale had."
"I
was just as surprised with winning and thought I had a much better year
last season but its still nice to get the recognition despite what
others think."
