NEW CLUBROOMS TO BE BUILT FOR IFASC !!!!!
14/11/2011
Ingle
Farm Soccer Club is happy to announce that approval for Ingle Farm's proposed new club rooms is official and construction is due to start in October 2012.
It is what the hard-working volunteers of Ingle Farm Soccer Club have been dreaming of for many years.
Ingle Farm Soccer Club moved into its current "change rooms" in 1979 and were recently reported as a high priority for an upgrade after an audit of sporting clubs by Salisbury Council.
IFASC committee members and helpers are currently required to pull out all equipment out of a makeshift store room to accommodate the visiting team on match days, then at the conclusion of the match put all the equipment back and then immediately clean change rooms to open up the clubroom to accommodate players and supporters for an after match drink. We have done it this way for the best part of 20 years !!!
No more will supporters have to squeeze into a smelly, steamy, half wet change room after a game, because IFASC's new club rooms will feature:
- A new 150m² Clubroom - that can double in size to 300m² with a retractable door separating the two.
- New Bar and Kitchen. Including a cool room.
- New toilets and the addition of a handicapped toilet.
- New elevated outside paved Francesco area facing the soccer pitch with overhead Verandah.
- The existing change rooms / club rooms to be divided into 4 equal change rooms with shower cubicles and toilet in each
- Storeroom, with the addition of more storage space in the breezeway.
It is a welcome relief to those who over the years have worked tediously to keep the existing club going so strongly and the club rooms in a workable condition. In particular Paul Lenarkzyc, Paul Hurst, Ron Sparks, Pop Newton and Ted Beck who combined have volunteered more than 120 years for the club in its present state.
Jason Walker, Paul Simpson, Paul Hurst, Anthony Martini, Brendan Altus and David Eggers have all been in development talks at different stages with the council for a number of years - in fact Jason Walker first got involved some 5 years ago now - and full credit to those people for getting the project up and going.
We are likely to see construction begin around October 2012, however construction could begin sooner depending on how the planning goes. Either way we look forward to this massive facelift for the club. Exciting times ahead.

FARM FINISH PREMIER LEAGUE RUNNERS UP IN A'S AND B'S
15/09/2011
Ingle
Farm Soccer Club can hold its head high after its two senior teams both finished Runners Up in their respective Sunday premier divisions.
Ingle Farm's 1st Team polished off their fantastic second half of the season unbeaten run by smashing Para Hills East 5-1 on their home paddock at Para Hills Oval. It was a remarkable turnaround by Simmo's men after only gaining 4 points from its first 5 games of the season. The lads lost but 1 game for the rest of the season after Round 5.
Ingle Farm's Reserves Team also finished Runners Up in Sunday Premier B League after Florina's Reserves forfeited the final catch up game. By our Reserves high standards, the lads are probably disappointed with second, but it is some achievement especially with all the young lads we have in the squad. Well done to Anthony Martini and his men.
Ingle Farm C Team lost to East finishing them in 5th position in Sunday Division 8. Not a bad result considering the team carried Jackie Tran and Chris Duncan for most of the season :D
The Over 35's had a bye - which has been one of their better results this season.
INGLE FARM GIRLS SOCCER TEAM STORM HOME TO FINISH 3RD
15/09/2011
Ingle
Farm Soccer Club's vastly improved Girls Team won its final 5 games of the season to propel itself up to 3rd position in the final table of the 2011 FFSA Sunday Girls Division 5.
In only its second season of its existence, Farm's Girls Team has become a serious contender in Sunday Division 5 - no longer an easy beat, but now a respected team within its division.
In Round 17, the girls hosted 5th-placed Roseworthy home at Walkley Park. It was a comfortable home win... 4-0 being the final result.
In Round 18, the girls traveled down to Flinders University where they challenged 6th-placed Flinders Flames. The Flames took an early lead in the 1st half before Ingle Farm's Kirsten Osborne scored direct from a free kick- levelling the scores at 1-1. Moments later Heather Emmanuel ripped through the Flames defence to give Farm the lead. The girls managed to hold the home team during the second half for a hard-fought 2-1 away win.
In Round 19 Ingle Farm's Girls Team hosted 8th-placed Munno Para Girls Team at Walkley Park. Kirsten Osborne once again scored an "awesome" free kick and along with a brace from Heather Emmanuel, this was enough to see off the visitors 3-1.
Last weekend, in Round 20, the girls team were visited by 7th-placed Pulteney. The girls had a standard 2-0 home win against them.
And in their final game for the season, Ingle Farm Girls had an away win over 4th-placed Brahma Lodge Girls under lights at Cockburn Green. The girls were pushed by the opposition in this match where the scores were tied at 2-2, before Ingle Farm finally overcame Brahma Lodge with a late winner with the final result being 3-2 to Ingle Farm's Girls Team.
It is terrific to see the improvement in the team in just 2 seasons, andwe hope that next season might be the one where the girls challenge for top spot. Well done to all involved.
BOISTEROUS SUPPORTERS PREMATURELY END MATCH
30/08/2011
Ingle
Farm Soccer Club is disappointed to report that Sundays 1st Team match between Farm and Pontians was ended by the referee after just 23 minutes due to a minority of Pontian supporters who aggressively hurled abuse at the referee after a red card was given to their keeper.
The referee, who had little option but to call the game off, blew the final whistle and lead his linesman away, leaving players and supporters frustrated. Thankfully no violence occurred but it was disappointing from a club point of view but it pretty much ruined the day for everyone. Apologies to those who came down to enjoy a good game of soccer from two highly-ranked 1st team squads.
NOTE: Later in the week Farm's 1st Team were awarded a 2-0 win by the SAASL.
Ingle Farm Reserves had a solid win 1-0 over Pontian's Reserves to move into second position on the Sunday Premier B ladder. Well done to them.
And Ingle Farm's C Team also had a 1-0 win in the morning match against Pontian's C team. Yes well done to them too.
Dads Army (the over 35's) got a lesson from Vale's Over 35's - 8-1 - what a pasting!! Too many on the turps for Brenno's "Engagement Party" the night previous I do think. (Hey Kingy and Dazza?)
FORMER IFASC CAPTAIN BRENDAN ALTUS' SURPRISE WEDDING
30/08/2011
Brendan and Tania Altus are Ingle Farm Soccer Club's newlyweds after guests were completely shocked when a surprise wedding occurred an hour into their engagement party last Saturday Night at the impressive Oaks Pier
Hotel on the Glenelg foreshore.
Nobody knew anything about the wedding... In fact, comically Brendan didn't even tell his mother; nor did Tania tell her Maid of Honour !! It was kept a complete secret and was a massive surprise for everyone in the room !! In fact the only people that knew were Brendan's brothers Gavin and Darren who were told only to be persuaded back from overseas for the big night.
It was a terrific night with a surreal, light feel. Brother and best man Darren Altus made a terrific speech about Brendan that described his leadership, loyalty and good nature that drew applause from the crowd. It summed up Brendan perfectly.
Tania looked beautiful in her white wedding dress and she lead her girlfriends out on the dance floor for much of the night. In fact her and Brendan put together quite the wedding dance themselves where they would not have been out of place in Dancing With The Stars.
Favorite IFASC son Brendan was recently named Ingle Farm Soccer Club's captain in the recently announced "Team of the Decade" but in more recent times had been swept of his feet by beautiful Tania.
Former
Ingle Farm Soccer Club Rock Band "Where's the Midfield?" dusted off the cobwebs and
rocked about 100 bubbly guests into the night.
It was a fantastic night sure to be remembered for many years to come.
So on behalf of all your friends at Ingle Farm Soccer Club, we would like to wish Brendan and Tania all the very best for the future and hope that love never leave your house and happiness stays with you forever!

A's AND B's HAVE WINS, C TEAM FAILS AGAIN
22/08/2011
The Ingle
Farm Soccer Club had two wins out of three against Fulham Utd away at Collins Reserve at the weekend. A's - Fulham Utd 3 Ingle Farm 4
INGLE Farm has managed to hold off a fast finishing Fulham winning 4-3 at Collins Reserve.
Ingle Farm came into the game on a seven game unbeaten run while Fulham looked to build on consecutive wins in the league.
Matt
Cocks opened the scoring for the Farmers in the 6th minute when he got
on the end of a Sean Robinson cross before finishing coolly.
The Farmers top marksman Luke Air then struck in the 16th minute when Cocks turned provider and Air finished in style.
Air
scored his second and the Farmers third on the half hour after Cocks
again played him through and just before the break Paul Jones cut in
from the right hand side and hammered the visitors into a 4-0 lead.
Fulham
started the 2nd half knowing something special would be needed to turn
it around and the got it in the 57th minute when midfielder Steve
Dominic scored with a thunderbolt from 25 yards.
In the 75th minute the home team made it 4-2 with Dominic playing in Paul Matteo who finished smartly.
With eight minutes on the clock Ivan Paris volleyed in from a corner to make it 4-3 and the comeback of the season was now on.
Fulham
came close from a corner which was headed just over in stoppage time
but it wasn’t to be as Ingle Farm held on for a 4-3 win.
Ingle
Farm are now only three points behind the 2nd placed Pontian and coach
Paul Simpson is looking forward to their match up this week “We have
Pontian and we are keen to finish 2nd which after our poor start would
be a great result”.
Fulhams Lawrie Sancilio rued his teams first
half “I was pleased with the fight and comeback but obviously
disappointed to give them a four goal start”.
-with thanks to Messenger SAASL Reporter Craig Laird.
B's Fulham Utd Reserves 2 Ingle Farm Reserves 5
Heard David EGGers scored a hatrick.
C's Fulham Utd C Team 0 Ingle Farm C Team 3
Horrible
first half for our guys let us down. A bit more commitment in the 2nd

FARM'S RESERVE CUP RUN ENDED BY GARDENS
14/08/2011
Ingle
Farm's Reserves were dramatically eliminated from the 2011 SAASL Reserve Cup by plucky Parafield Gardens Reserves today at Walkley Park. The final score was a disappointing 2-1.
Better news for the Farm Over 35's who had a glorious away win at Modbury Vista in their Division 10 Round 17 clash at Richardson Reserve. Steve Paterson and Vinnie Evans were among the scorers for the Farm; but they are all hero's, and that's what matters most. Well done to supercoach Lee Perkins and his men.
FARM PUT 1ST NAIL INTO FLORINA'S COFFIN
7/08/2011
Ingle
Farm's 1st Team consolidated 3rd position on the SAASL Premier League ladder with a thumping 5-1 thrashing of lowly Salisbury Florina at Walkley Park today. With three league games left in the season and needing to make up 4 points, Farm have possibly sealed Florina's fate with the crushing home win after last season's Runners Up disappointing season.
The Reserves Game was postponed - possibly due to the damage to the pitch Josh McQueen caused - during which the C Team fought out a 1-1 draw for the second week running.
FARM HOLD LEAGUE LEADERS GARDENS AWAY
Ingle
Farm's 1st Team extended their unbeaten run to 6 as they held their own away at Bradman Oval drawing with runaway league leaders Parafield Gardens. Farm took an early lead before falling behind, later to recover to 2-2.
Ingle Farm's Reserves disappointingly lost their crucial top-of-the-table clash with Gardens Reserves 2-1. The result dropped Farm Reserves to 3rd in the leagueand opened up a gap of 6 points between them and Gardens.
Our C Team held out for a 1-1 draw in the early match at Bradman Oval. No gossip on the grapevine for this game sadly, not a bad result though for Andy's young team.
Our Girls Team is struggling for numbers at the minute, however our girls managed an impressive result against Brahma Lodge Girls Team posting a 2-2 draw at Walkley Park.
And finally the Over 35's drew with Modbury Jets away at Ladywood Oval. Bit of a mudbath by all reports, but not to worry, Kingy's eyebrows were used as a super sopper prior to the match allowing the game to go ahead. :D
FARM ACCOUNT FOR BOTTOM PLACED WEST BEACH
Ingle
Farm's 1st Team moved up to 3rd position on the SAASL Sunday Premier League ladder after they were easy winners over West Beach 5-2 at home yesterday at Walkley Park.
Farm's Reserves set up a blockbuster match with Gardens Reserves this coming weekend as they moved within 3 points of the league leader after a hard fought win over Beach's Reserves. A solid win next week would see our lads leapfrog Gardens into top position as a classic "6 pointer" beckons for Martini's men. Good luck to our Reserves and get down there early this week to cheer them on!
And it would appear our magnificent C Team got thumped 5-0 at home. Reporting blind, I will simply blame Chris Duncan for the result as that is commonly the case. We can't wait for him to turn 35. :D
No word on the Girls Team or Over 35's results as yet folks... but I'm sure the girls had fun in the rain while the Over 35's game probably involved a lot of finger pointing and blame (hope Oggy wasn't in goal.)
INGLE FARM RESERVES THRU TO QUARTER FINALS OF CUP
Ingle
Farm's Reserves withstood Salisbury Inter Reserve's "rough house tactics" to comfortably win 4-0 at Walkley Park.
The Reserves have now won 26 or 27 cup matches played in the last 5 years in the SAASL Reserve Cup.
IFASC Chairman Jason Walker reported.. "A great display by our guys. The boys were ready for this game given
who Inter had available and the fact the wet, heavy pitch wouldn't allow
us to use our pace as much. The boys played well given the conditions,
controlling the midfield and breaking open Inter's defence in lots of
ways. Our two centre midfielders really ran the show I thought and made
it hard for Inter to attack, allowing our defenders to account for
their opponents. Inter's chances weren't helped when they had a player
sent off after about 20 mins for two challenges within about 3 minutes
of each other. Inter kept battling but the heavy pitch took its toll
with only 10 men and they ran out of legs before the final whistle."
ADD AWAY WIN OVER VALE TO THE LIST
Ingle
Farm's 1st Team held off a late charge by a determined Elizabeth Vale away at Mofflin Road on Sunday to record the teams 4th win on the trot.
Ingle Farm's Reserves were disappointing losing to bottom-dwelling Elizabeth Vale Reserves 1-0.
The C Team had a good first up win on the day as the overcame Vale's C Team 3-1.
FARM THREE-IN-A-ROW AFTER WIN OVER GROVE
Ingle
Farm's 1st Team continued its good form with a convincing 4-1 away win over Elizabeth Grove on the weekend.
Ingle Farm's Reserves also had a convincing 5-0 win in the 1pm match.
And Andy's C Team escaped with a 2-1 win in the early match as Farm made it a clean sweep for the day.
Here is the 1st Team report by Messenger Sports Writer, Craig Laird..
Elizabeth Grove vs. Ingle Farm
INGLE Farm’s inform striker Luke Air has bagged a hat trick to help his team to a comfortable 4-1 win over Elizabeth Grove at Dauntsey Road.
Air
came into the game with seven goals from his last six and he wasted no
time adding to that tally when he pounced on a poor back pass in the
opening minute to slot the visitors into a 1-0 lead.
The
Peckers found themselves 2-0 down in the eighth minute when Air scored a
contender for goal of the season as he picked the ball up on the left
hand side before drilling a screamer from 35 yards.
The
Grove’s own goal machine Boree Kieng brought the Peckers back into the
game when he got on the end of a through ball before rounding the keeper
to make it 2-1.
Five
minutes before the break the Farmers regained their two goal advantage
when Matt Cocks rose at the back post to header the visitors into a 3-1
half time lead.
Air finished the game as a contest in the 65th minute when he followed up a parried Cocks shot to claim his hat trick to make it five out of the Farmers last six games.
Farm
coach Paul Simpson is not getting ahead of himself “We are taking it
one game at a time. The confidence is up and the boys are working really
hard on the track”.
For
Peckers coach Shane Ferdinand he could have little complaint about the
result “We were beaten by a better side. We play Fulham next week so we
hit the track and look for a response”
FARM WITH LAST GASP WIN OVER DOWNS
28/06/2011
Ingle
Farm 1st Team continued their impressive form last weekend defeating
3rd ranked Elizabeth Downs 3-2. Here is the report by Messenger Sports
writer, Craig Laird..
INGLE Farm has put a major dent in Elizabeth Downs’s championship bid with a thrilling stoppage time 3-2 win at Walkleys Park.
Both sides started the game tentatively with few chances created in the
opening half hour. In the 31st minute a Nathan Day 30 yard free kick was
superbly saved by the diving Robbie Greenwood in the Farm goal.
Ingle Farm were lucky to survive when the resulting corner was met by
Tom Radford with his header rattling the cross bar but the Downs would
not have to wait long for the opener.
Andrew Lindsay got on the end of a through ball and when he was taken
down in the box the referee pointed to the penalty spot and Radford
stepped up to make it 1-0 to the visitors on 34 minutes.
The Downs confidence grew and moments later Steve Butler rounded the
keeper only to see his shot cleared off the line by Toby Dodd.
The Farmers ended the half well with Matt Cocks forcing two good saves
for the Downs keeper Ben Aldridge but the score remained 1-0 to the
visitors.
Ingle Farm leveled the game at 1-1 two minutes into the second half when
the inform Luke Air received the ball from a throw in took a touch and
let fly with a thunderbolt from 30 yards to send the home fans wild.
The home team started to pile on the pressure with Cocks, Luke Williams
and Air all missing good opportunities to score as the Downs rode their
luck.
On 70 minutes Ingle Farm took the lead when a long ball over the top found Cocks who slotted it past Aldridge from 15 yards.
Paul Jones could have sealed the game in the 73rd minute but his well hit shot was blocked by a desperate Aldridge.
With four minutes remaining it looked like the Downs would get a share
of the points when a scramble after a corner fell to Day whose shot was
deflected before Mark Kelly slotted it in to make it 2-2.
In stoppage time Dave Ennis played a ball to the back post where captain
Chris Ennis headed across goal was flicked in by Williams to win the
game for the jubilant Paul Simpson “It was a great advert for amateur
soccer. I thought in the second half we lifted and created a lot of
chances. We are now looking to get on a run in the second half of the
year and push up the table”.
Downs coach Alan Mottram knows his team has a mountain to climb “We
certainly won’t give up on the league. We know we now need to win all of
our games it’s as simple as that”.
FARM WIN LOCAL DERBY
The
day began with the Farm C team taking on the top stop Para Hills East.
From all reports it was a very good game with both side creating good
opportunities. The Farm went ahead and was in front till the last 5
minutes when Josh thought he was playing rugby and spear tackled the
East striker to the ground, the ref had no choice but to point at the
penalty spot. The East tucked it away and that is how the score ended.
Excellent result for the Farm given resent results.
The
Reserves was a 6 pointer with both side looking for the win to keep up
with the top of the table Gardens. The Farm started off the better side
and missed a few half chances in the opening 10 minutes. The Farm would
eventually go ahead from a well taken goal by Fernando Lara. The East
struggled to created opportunities in the first half and the Farm went
in 1-0 up at half time.
The
second half started off with the East having more of the ball although
they created little direct chances on goal. The East eventually scored
through a dubiously called free kick. The player receiving the ball
clearly came from an offside position to the get the ball, the linesman
flagged for offside but for whatever reason the ref decides he was in a
better position and called the free kick. The resulting free kick was
scored. 1-1. The Farm pressed for the winner and if not for some better
touch in front of goal the Farm would have found themselves one-on-one
in several occasion in the last 20 minutes. The Farm would eventually
score in the 75 minute when Andrew Filipou scored a header from a David
Eggers free kick. 2-1 to the Farm and the final score. Excellent result
given the injuries and reshuffle to the side.
In the first team game, the Farm secured a vital three points with a 3-0 win over a depleted Para Hills East at Walkleys Park.
Ingle
Farm started off the game the better side and opened the scoring in the
8th minute when striker Matt Cocks picked the ball up on the right and
found Luke Air who slotted his fifth goal in five games to make it 1-0.
Both
teams struggled to create much in the final third as both midfield’s
and defenses held firm but it was the Farm who had created the better
half chances in the First half and went to the break with the slenderest
of leads.
After
the break it was more of the same as both teams struggled to get their
normal fluency going, both side tried to create chances but both
defences where holding strong, Chris Ennis hardly looked troubled in
defence cleaning up and East half chance.
The
Farm would make it 2-0 in the 80th minute when Ricky Simpson took a
controversial quick free kick finding Matt Cocks who clinically slotted
it home to put the game beyond the battling East.
The
Farmers made it three two minutes from time as the in form Air rounded
the keeper for his second of the game and six of the season.
Farm
coach Paul Simpson was happy to take all three points “To be honest it
was a dour sort of game and you could argue that a draw might have been a
fair result but we are a team who normally creates 10 to 15 chances,
today we only created a few chances but we put them away which is
encouraging”.
East
coach Ryan Mogg was proud of his boys “Through injury we are probably
playing some guys who are finding just how tough this league is but to
their credit they are giving everything which is all I can ask”.
FARM GO DOWN IN A CRACKER
Pontians certainly came out to play this week as they fielded three extremely strong teams to take on the Farm on their home turf. Ferryden Park Reserve has become a fortress for Pontians this year and all three teams have dropped very little points there.
The day started with the C team going to down 5-1. Pontians C team are a very good side who moved the ball gracefully around the park. The Farmers had no match to the Pontians attacking power. Pontians pretty much dominated the game from start to end. Pontians scored the opener from a cracking 18 yard strike and the Farm hit straight back when Tan volley from a corner 25 yards out into the back of the net. Goal of the day by a long way. Sensational volley Tan. This sparked some confidence into the Farm as they streaked forward looking for another goal, but Pontians would spoil the fun when they score a cracking goal on a tight angle. From that point on Pontians stepped it up a gear and controlled the remainder of the game.
The Reserves, who had struggled against the top sides this year, came into this game with a must win attitude to stay in the title race. Pontians was undefeated at home so we knew this was going to be a tough encounter. Both sides started out with end to end football. The Farm settled much quicker and began to move the ball around the park much better. Jarrard Rich would open the score for the Farm when he volleys from an acute angle into the top of the Pontians net. Pontians, who had some very skilful players, rose to the challenge and started to come at the Farm. Some very good defending from both sides held out some half chances. The Farms second goal would come from some excellent defending by Jason Keep who quickly moved the ball to Mark Bromley, Mark powered down the right wing and hit a sensational cross to Andy Lynn. Andy controlled the ball 6 yards out and tapped the ball past the keeper into the net. The second half was almost all Pontians, as they committee 4 players up front. The Farm new they had to soak up the pressure and we would score from a quick break. The Farm patiently defended each Pontian attack and eventually Ferenando Lara would break through the defence and be brought down for a penalty. He would then step up and smash it into the back of the net. At three nil the game was over. Massive win by the boys who jump to second and keep in touch with the Gardens.
The A team came into this weeks must win game with the right attitude to keep any chance of a title hope in tacked for another week. Up to this week the Farmers had only beaten the three teams below them so it would be an extremely tough task against the top side Pontians. If you looked at the table, you would have thought Pontians would easily win, well that was very far from the truth.
The Farm took it too Pontians from the first minute to the ninetieths and if not for some poor finishing would have walked away with the result.
Not too take anything away from Pontians, they are top for a reason and deserve all the praise, they play some sensational football and by far the best team the Farm have played all year.
The game started at one hundred miles an hour with both teams creating chances at either end. It was looking like a mistake would open the account for either team and that was exactly what happened. Three Potians players pounced onto Dave Ennis on the right wing, forcing a mistake, Angelo Petronzo pounced onto the ball for Pontians and smash past Greenwoods near post and into the back of the net. 1-0 to Pontians.
Some very good defending was holding Pontians at bay. Lachlan Campbell was having a great game, his forward drives was opening up the Pontians defence creating half chances for Cocks, Air and Jones. Cocks would miss the chance of the half when he turned a very easy tap in into a dogs breakfast, hitting the ball wide. The Farm opener would eventually come from a Penalty when the Pontians defender thought he was playing AFL football as jumped all over Paul Jones back. Campbell would step up and smash the ball against the bar, fortunately Luke Air would clean up the rebound and header it into the net.
The second half would start as good as the first, both teams were committing numbers forward but the Farm was creating the better chances. It would seem a matter of time before the Farm would eventually go ahead as they were tearing the Pontians defence apart. Cocks, Campbell and Air would all miss good opportunities to put the Farm a head. Once again, like in previous weeks, our simple misses would come back to haunt us when Pontians won a very dubious penalty of their own. From where I was standing it did not look like a deliberate handball in the box but the ref was not having a good game and we just knew he would call it, and indeed he did. Pontians put the penalty away to restore their lead. This ignited the Farm and they dominated the next passages of play. Evan Emmanuel would drive through the middle of the park and smash a 20 yard shot into the back of the net. 2-2. Pontians looked dead a buried, with Ennis, Dodd and Clarke cleaning up. Campbell was having an absolute cracker in the middle of the park as Pontians struggled to control him. The Farm would miss two easy headers in the 6 yard box to go ahead then against the run of play, a Chris Ennis pass was intercepted by the Pontians striker, who knocked the ball wide giving the other striker one-on-one opportunity. He would tap the ball around Greenwood, and when it looked like he hit the ball too wide, the striker composed himself and hit a great strike from the angle into the back of the net. 3-2. Just when we through the game was over, Cocks would miss one last half chance before Toby Dodd was red cards for tackle from behind. Nobody complained about the definite red card.
That would be the last moment of the day giving Pontians the three points and the Farm last chance to keep in touch with the top of the table. The Farm had the better chances in the game but Pontians took theirs on the day and the points. “You can bring the horse to water but you can’t teach it too drink” and that has been the Farm story in front of goal all year.
In other games of the day, the women’s team went down 8-0 to Para Hill United. Para Hill is the top team and smashing goals left right and centre. From my reports, they had too sensational players who just tore us apart. Unlucky girls, keep your chins up.
Dads Army had a good 2-0 win over Athelstone. The win keeps the boys in touch with the top teams. I will await the match report.
1ST TEAM WITH 2-IN-A-ROW / MIXED RESULTS ELSEWHERE
Womens Team
Let’s start off with last weekend’s update with the Women’s team. They have quietly been getting on with business and have done a complete 180 from last year. The girls are playing some very good football and they are getting the results to prove it.
On the weekend they had a solid 1-1 draw against MOSA. Don’t know much about the game except Heather scored again. Well done ladies.
A special mention must go to Heather Emmanuel who has scored 5 goals in two weeks. Super effort Heather, we may need to get you out with the Boys on Tuesday and Thursday nights to show them how it is done.
C Team
The day started off with the C’s going 1-0 down the Fulham. The Fulham C team looked under the pump all day as they seemed on the back foot for the whole match. Somehow they took one of their very few chances and walked away with the win. The C team pressed hard all day but just could not find the final pass for the strikers. C boys certainly let this one go. They need to be more clinical in the final third if they want to walk away with the result.
Reserves
The Reserves went down 2-1 to an undermanned Fulham. The first half was fairly even with Fulham playing the more structured football and hitting feet more consistently then the Farm. The first goal came about from smart football by the Fulham striker who saw Air on the 6 yard line and chipped him from 30 yards out, Chris miss judged the flight on the ball and appeared time miss time his push over the bar. Fulham went 2-0 up through some excellent football as they strung over 10 passes from defence through to the midfield, out wide, down the wing and a great cross for the midfielder to strike from 18 yards out. Fulham settled better on the ball and patiently waited for the Farm to give them ball through miss passes then capitalise. The Farm was lucky not to go three down when Air pulled off a good save from the Fulham striker when he got through one on one late in the first half. The Farm was creating some half chances of their own, with Sean Robertson missing the chance of the first half from about 6 yards out, when what seemed a simple tap in turned out to be comedy of errors before Fulham cleared the ball. With almost the last kick of the half, Lloyd Townsend scored from a corner to put the Farm back into the game 2-1 down.
The second half was all Ingle Farm. Fulham did not get a shot on goal while the Farm missed six clear one-on-ones inside the 6 yard box and a dozen more around the 18 yard box. A dreadful display of shooting from the Farm which once again cost them chance to take the points. If not for poor finishing the Farm played 100% better in the second half. Well done to Fulham who held their ground and walked away with the result.
A Team Match Report
The Farm has made it two wins on the trot with a comfortable 3-0 win over the struggling Fulham at Walkleys Park.
Following a good performance against Florina the week earlier, the Farm was on a small high coming into the game. Fulham themselves has been struggling with injury and limped into Round 7 with a team a shade of what it started with early in the season.
The Farm had Fulham on the back foot from the kick off and was committing forward with confidence. It did not take long for Cocks to find his first shot on goal only to see the Fulham keep pull off a fantastic save to keep the ball out of the net. For the next 15 minutes Air, Cocks and Ennis all would have shots on goal which would probably hit the back of the net with any other keeper in the league saved, but the Fulham keeper was have a cracker and pulled off some sensational saves to keep it scoreless. It was looking like one of those days again.
Finally the Farmers opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a classy 20 yard effort from Paul Jones found the top corner to settle the home team’s nerves.
Ingle Farm, who are always a dangerous team going forward, soon doubled their lead when a very well created move saw Luke Air score his second in as many weeks to make it 2-0.
From this moment onwards the Farm was cruising and Fulham were struggling to stay in the game. The Farm had several more chances on goal well saved by the Fulham keeper. Right on half time Fulham missed a good opportunity claw a goal back.
Farm 2-0 up going into the break.
The second half started off with a very dubious penalty call for Fulham just three minutes in. From a corner kick, Greenwood was judged to have put his hands over the Fulham player shoulders. As they say justice prevails and Paul Matteo, who has been one of Fulham’s better players this season, put the spot kick over the bar.
The Farm picked up the pace and pushed forward looking for the third goal. For the next 20 minutes the Farm continued to pepper the Fulham goal with no result. Finally in the 70th minute the Farm secured all three points with a typically classy finish from Lachlan Campbell who struck a dipping shot from 20 yards to sink Fulham hearts.
Fulham new there day was done and stacked the defence to keep the score respectable.
Campbell played another BOG performance, while Luck Air, Paul Jones, Dave Ennis playing very well while Chris Ennis was super solid at the heart of the Farm defense. For the visitors’ keeper Nick Scoleri was responsible for keeping the damage to only three goals and won the thorn of the Day prize from Paul Simpson.
Farm President Jason Walker found a lot to be positive about the game “We’ve played well and kept a clean sheet for two weeks in a row and are hopefully on a bit of a run. I thought we kept the ball well and we are starting to look like our old selves”.
Fulham coach Lawrie Sancilio was disappointed with the performance “Disappointing today. Overall the better team won today with out doubt”.
Although it is good to see the Farm get the results the last two weeks, let’s not get too complacent boys, two win in a row against two sides below us in the table nothing more then expected. This week will tell us where we are at against top of the table Pontians.
Dads Army Match Report
Another home game played away, under very dark grey skies. Was today the end of the world? We AGAIN failed to provide a ref so had to endure the worst ever reffing from a home ref. 13 players to start, Towner rocked up after half time. I had a great day out (more to come) but decided that after being told to play left back thought I was more suited to right back and played the first 5 minutes with 2 right backs. Yes it took us 5 minutes to realise this. Then a nice through ball and Patto slides the pall past the out of place keeper and into an empty net. 1-0. Vista had the one real threat up forward (former A player) who was nearly brought down (yes by me) but played on and smashed the ball over the bar. But the home ref decided that there was no advantage and brought play back for a free kick which he very easily put in the top corner. 1-1. We kicked off again and played the ball around the park and should have had another 3 or 4 goals, but our shooting was soft and wayward. Toomer hobbled off with a hami as Beans warmed up on the sidelines. So into the second half and still under grey skies, again we attacked in waves but for no result. Finally the ball is fed in to Kingy who has soo much time his shot is deflected and drops in for 2-1, I think it went down as an own goal. Then disaster as the Vista attack produces a teasing cross which results in my headed own goal, with our keeper well beaten. 5 minutes later another shocking decision results in blatant offside ending up with 1 on 1 and we are down 3-2. Some ugly tackles go on and we nearly have an all in brawl as Johnny doesn’t take too kindly to being called a Hun, don’t mind the Germans myself, but we cool off and play goes on. We don’t give up and play the ball around but come up against a good keeper. Finally Greg gets the ball out wide cuts in and beats the keeper only to see his shot hit the cross bar, but Patto is on hand to put the rebound in, which is stopped by the Vista defenders hand, who is sent off. Vinney steps up and slots the penalty away 3-3. Our heads are up and soon its 4-3 as Kingy curls a 20 yarder with his left foot into the top corner. The then FIFA ref decides to even the teams up and sends me off for hand ball in the middle of the park. Laughable. But Vinney manages to seal the game, after his numerous misses and makes it 5-3. Game over. So in a game that had everything but a streaker, we came away with the cookies. Played some real good soccer today, and could have easily scored 8 or more. And no Towner we didn’t look better when you came on. Away again next week to Athelstone. Beans never got a run and managed to set off the clubroom alarms and lock himself in the Vista toilets. J and the home ref, well his name rhymes with Cannon and used to play for us!!!
CLEAN SWEEP OF WINS FOR THE FARM AT FLORINA
For the first time in years has the Farm had a clean sweep of wins against Florina away. With gail force winds and constant rain the conditions made it horrible for players and supporters.
The day kicked off with an excellent performance from the C team. They dominated majority of the game and if not for some poor finishing would have comfortably won the game. Nevertheless the C boys fort on, continued to push forward and with persistence they walked away 2-1 victors. Well done to Devon who scored a double, that makes up for the miss you made earlier in the year on the goal line. Some good signs are starting to show and the team is it begins to gel. Moment of the day had to be when Florina scored and they all dropped to the floor and planked. Very funny, the word is Florina will review there OH&S policy with the league and possibly delist all participants.
The Reserves got back on the track with a comfortable 4-0 win. The condition made it horrible to control the ball and play free flowing football. Some excellent performances with Dylan Kent scoring a double, and David Eggers and Nick Filipou also getting on the score sheet as well. A very good performance by the Farm given the circumstances but there is still plenty of room for improvement in the coming weeks.
The A game started off a tight tussle with both teams creating half chances before the Farm settled and started to control the game. With Florina coming off an excellent result against the Downs they were always going to be tough to beat and the weather did not help either. The Farm missed several good chances to take the lead in the first half but too Florin’a credit they stood firm and defended well to keep the score sheet 0-0 at half time. The second half was a different story with the Farm completely dominating from the 46th minute to the 90th minute. Florina hardly got over there halfway line and when they did Clarke, Dodd and Chris Ennis were cleaning up any threat. Jones, Campbell, Cocks, Dave Ennis , Emmanuel and Williams were tearing Florina apart in attack, the only problem was the ball was not going into the net. Eventually the Farm would score through another cracked by Evan Emanuel with a 25 yard thunder bolt. The Farm continued to press forward, missing chance after chance after chance, in the future the club will invest in a punching bag on the side line for Simmo and Leggy to let their frustration out on. Campbell was substituted for Luke Air who almost had an instant impact nearly scoring from his first touch. Eventually the Farm would score a well deserved second goal through some cleaver play by Luke Air to who walk around the keeper and tuck the ball into the net. If not for some very poor finishing, the Farm should have been in double figures, this just sums up the year so far. Nevertheless, good win and let’s hope the boys are back on track for the season.
Well done to all three teams, first clean sweep of the year and hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.
The women’s team continue to hit there straps with another solid win over Braham Lodge. The girls have been a real surprise package this year with some fantastic results so far. Well done to Coach Tim and the girls. If any of the girls could provide us a weekly match report, that would be great.
Unfortunately the Dad’s Army went down 8-2 to Para Hills West. Bad luck fella’s. Hopefully we can get a match report on this one.
FARM OUT OF CUP WITH SHOCK LOSS TO DIV 3 BLUE EAGLES
A very well structured Blue Eagles patiently held off Ingle Farm to knock us out of the Challenge Cup in the first round. The Farm, who failed at this hurdle last year, displayed what can only be describes as a dismal effort at Marden Sports Centre.
Ingle Farm started off well controlling the play and missed several half chances in the first half to put themselves a head. Luke Air was closest hitting the cross bar from 18 yards out. Blue Eagles, who you would of thought should have been out of their depth, were very well structured and extremely disciplined to their positions and seemed to be creating some half chances of their own. At half time the score was surprisingly 0-0.
The second half started off very lethargic and was heading towards another 0-0 half before the Blue Eagles finally struck in the 25 minutes. To the Farms fortune they hit back instantly through an Evan Emmanuel cracker to level the score. It was not long before the Blue Eagle where ahead again when Barry Fitzharris brought down the Blue Eagles winger in the 18 yard box leaving the referee no choice but to point at the penalty spot. Caparaso slotted the penalty home to restore the Blue Eagles lead. The Farm hit back with 8 minutes to go through a scrappy goal to level the score at 2-2. Just as it would seem both teams where settling for extra time, the Blue Eagle scored the winner with 3 minutes left in the game. The Farm really did not look like getting a third goal and really did not deserve it as the Blue Eagles ended up winning 3-2.
The Farm seem to go forward fine and create chances but yet again they leak too many goals which is making it too difficult for the strikers to claw back. Some real soul searching needs to happen between the players, we have the cattle but it would seem not the will.
Reserves struggle through Round 1 of the Cup against a strong St Peters
With St. Peters A team having a forfeit, we well and truly new they would stack there side and indeed they did, but that did not phase our Ressies as they soaked up the pressure and for once took their few chances to walk away with a 3-2 win.
The Farm took the lead in the opening 10 minutes when Rich put Zorro through to slot past the keeper. It was end to end football with both sides defending very well before some scrappy defending gifted St. Peters there first goal. To the Farm’s credit they fort on, and tried to create another chance and finally found another goal through Andy Lynn to go into half time 2-1 up. A very even and entertaining first half with both sides having as many chances on goal. Unfortunately for the Farm Jarrod Rich injured his knee and had to come off.
The second half was a different story as St Peters stepped up a notch and dominated the next 45 minutes. It would seem only a matter of time before they would score but the Farm defence was soaking up the pressure and relentlessly preventing them from getting a direct shot on goal. St. Peters was resorting to wide angle or distance shots in search of the equaliser. It was from a corner the Saints would finally score as somehow a well taken corner curled into the front post and into the net. Air would say after the game “it was bad keeper mistake by me, sorry boys”, but he had done very well throughout the game to keep the ball out of the net so we will let that one slide, this time. With 10 minutes to go the Farm finally started to get into the half but by then players where dropping like flys as we tried to reshape the team to limp to full time. Fortunately with 5 minutes to go, a very good through ball found Bromley free and one-on-one on goal. Mark hammered his first chance against the keeper but slotted the rebound home to make us 3-2 up. The boys went into complete defence mode from this point on and controlled the next 5 minutes till the final whistle.
A fantastic win by the Ressies to fight hard, never give up and walk away with a win. Great effort boys.
In other games today, Modbury Jets O/35’s forfeited gifting the Farm a 2-0 win while our girls after going four wins in a row went down 8-1 to a very strong Adelaide Uni.
FARM DOMINATE GARDENS BUT DON'T GET THE POINTS
PARAFIELD Gardens have reclaimed top spot with a 2-0 win over Ingle Farm at Walkleys Park.
Gardens came into the game having drawn 3-3 in the much anticipated game against Elizabeth Downs but any thought of a let down was washed away as the visitors started well and went 1-0 up when goal predator Michael Brooks finished well from just inside the 18 yard box on ten minutes.
From this Ingle Farm lifted and woul dtotall dominate the game for the remaining first half.
The Farm started to cause the Champions headaches and for the remainder of the half you would have thought the Farm was top and Gardens lingered towards the bottum.
Cocks, Campbell, Air, Williams and Jones where destroying the Gardens defence with countless opportunities created. Ennis started off the shot on slaught with a great header on goal only to see solid Stam again pull off a good save to keep the ball out. Matt Cocks would then be on the end of a Luke Williams cross which he struck very well only for Stam to tap the ball onto the post. Minutes later Cocks found himself free on the box but spray the ball over the bar. Soon after Williams would find himself in a good opportunity on the edge of the box too slot the ball away but miss hit the ball wide of the post. Cock again would combine with Campbell as Cocks strayed into the box but missed a simple one on one by hitting the ball straight into Stam. Campbell and Jones then would combine to set Cocks free into the box but he blasted his shot over the bar. Luke Air was having a cracker out wide and he would be the next Farmer to miss an opportunity to level the score card as he came in from the left wing and blazed his shot wide of the bar. Cocks would have the last chance of the half when he was through again one on one but Stam pulled off a good save to deny him.
To the Farmers disbelief, the ref blew for half time and they were down 1-0.
Gardens looked off the boil in defence and coach Steve Cook told his charges that a lift was required in the second half but the second half start like the end of the first. For the next twenty minutes the Farm would control the play as the Gardens struggled to control the game with the Farm missing several more chances to level score.
In the 65th minute John Foat played a nice ball to young Andy McConnell who finished brilliantly doubling Gardens lead.
For the remainder of the half the Gardens would settle and stay to control the game and created one or two half chances, but the Farm kept on pressing and created a plethora of chances but Cocks and Paul Jones couldn’t find a way past the outstanding Stam. The Farms day was settled when Cocks missed an open header on goal minutes to go.
As the final whistle went this left Ingle Farm coach Paul Simpson scratching his head “I’m really happy with the way we played, if we weren’t creating chances then I’d be worried but we need to start taking them or we will continually be chasing games”.
Gardens coach Steve Cook was delighted to take all three points “I wasn’t happy with the first half and we asked for a response and I think we got it” he continued “Some times you need to grind out wins and I think that’s what we did which is a sign of a strong side”.
The Reserve match was much similar to the A’s with the number of chances missed but a very well drilled Gardens were much more dangerous up front and walked away 3-1. On shots on goals statistics alone, you would have thought the Farm won 10-3. We hope for improvement this week against St Peter’s in the Cup.
O35'S - INGLE FARM 3-1 ELIZ DOWNS
11/05/2011
Our first home game in front of a bumper crowd of 4. But despite frantic efforts we could not muster a home ref.. pretty poor effort, was anyone aware we do also play home games at Ingle Farm? The rain held off as we introduced our new keeper to the crowd, of which 3 were his family. Jose had no problem understanding Johnny Miller and was happy to interpreted for us. No sign of Lee and Dazza who were still off camping, or were they watching reruns of the royal wedding? We had to give the refing duties to the Downs coach, which prob cost us 2 goals, 1 blatant penalty waived on and countless other frees. We kicked off downhill and started a bit sloppily. Loose passing and decision making, but Downs never threaten to score for the first 20 minutes. Then 4 beautiful 10 meter 1,2’s between Vinny and Patto cuts the Downs apart and Vinny makes it 1-0 slotting the ball into the corner. A Downs defensive error and the miss kick falls to Greg who beats the defender and goes 1 on 1 with the keeper and slots home to make it 2-0. Half time arrives and so does the FIFA World Cup Ref, who takes over and also gives both linesmen a 10 minute talk on the rules and his thoughts on solar panels. Eventually the game is restarted. We need a 3rd goal and start to pepper the goals now, with at least 4 koala’s killed by Patto, Vinny and even Toomer. Finally 3-0 after a super Vinny corner if nodded into the top corner by new recruit Jimmy Schwartzer. Still we had more chances but the Downs keeper pulled off a 2 great saves and we killed more koala’s. Then someone handed Drogba the linesman flag, without him getting his 10 minute training and the Downs forward (1 meter offside) strolls in to goal to beat Jose and its 3-1. 2 minutes later another 1 on 1 with Jose who manages to smother the shot enough to see it just dribble past the post. It ended 3-1, could have been 6 but our first win on the board. Some good signs with players to come back and a half decent keeper on board. Vinny and Patto again ran all day and Kingy and Jimmy worked well in the middle. Missed out on that clean sheet, but won’t be long now. Away to Jets Old Boys next... see u there.
FARM GO DOWN TO THE VALE 5-3
ELIZABETH Vale has tasted their first win of the season with a 5-3 victory over Ingle Farm at Walkleys Pk.
Both teams entered the game with only one point from two games and it was Ingle Farm who started the better. The Farm settled much quicker on the ball and the with Vale keeper Andy Kokot pulled off two sensational saves to deny Matt Cocks from getting on the score sheet.
It was not long into the game when Matt Cocks seemed to ghost in behind the Vale defence and smash the ball into the top of the net only to be called offside by the lineman. A dubious decision as Matt appeared to be well onside. Moments later Cocks again found himself one on one and again slotted the ball away only to be denied for the second time by the lineman in minutes. Once again the hill erupted as Cocks appeared to be onside again. Who would have thought how much those mistakes would come back to haunt the Farm.
Against the runoff play, the Vale received a free kick when Dodd tackled the Vale player from behind just outside the box. A very well struck free by Darryl Maher put the Vale 1-0 up.
Even 1-0 down the Farm still seemed to have more of the play but the Vale started to create some half chances of their own.
The Vale doubled their lead on the 25 minute when a half cleared corner fell to Phil Orange who volleyed it home from the edge of the box. The goal lifted the Vale for the next 10 minutes as they controlled the play in search of a third goal.
The home team needed a lift and they got it when play maker Lachlan Campbell crossed a ball finding Matt Cox who headed home to bring the Farmers back into the game.
The Vale who gave up a two goal lead on the opening day of the season and did it again as the referee awarded the home team a penalty for hand ball that Cox coolly finished.
After the break the Farm was trying to stretch the Vale. For the first 10 minutes of the half the constant attack by the Farm had the Vale on the back foot and they where reverting to long balls out of defence to relieve the pressure. It was a long ball down the wing in the 55th minute which unstuck the Farm defence again when Michael Francis got on the end of an Orange cross before slotting it home to put the Vale up 3-2.
Moments later Orange got his second of the game from a corner kick when he placed a left footer from 18 yards to make it 4-2.
Things got worse for the home team when Toby Dodd was given his marching orders. Both players appeared to dive onto the ball but it was Dodd who was slightly later then the Vale player. The referee had no choice but to send off Dodd.
With 10 men, the Farm was still pushing to close the Vale lead and we grabbed a lifeline when Paul Jones made it 4-3 from a volley on the edge of the box.
The Farm had to take risks and was unlucky not to get an equaliser as it appeared the Vale had 10 men and not the Farm.
The Vale dubiously sealed the win when Mark Burbridge teamed with Chris Nicholls before Burbridge found himself one-on-one against Greenwood, a very well taken finish put the Vale 5-3 ahead. How the referee missed the clear fowl on the Farm player moments before left most supporters wondering if the ref was watching the same game.
That was really the final moment of the game as the Vale won the game 5-3 and took the three points.
Ingle Farm coach Paul Simpson knows his team needs to tighten up defensively “We are playing good football but we are conceding some sloppy soft goals and we need to look at that quickly”.
A very bad start to the season for the Farm as they linger 3 too bottom in the league. The Downs and Gardens sitting undefeated, we have a lot of work to try and get back into the title race.
Well done to the Reserves who had a convincing 4-1 win over last year Reserve league winners and the C team who had a solid 2-0 win. Both teams are starting to shape up well.
Over 35's Match Report - TEA TREE ODGEN 9 - FARM 3
We travelled north to play Tea Tree Gully on a warm autumn day. Bare 11 today and the late arrival of Drogba for the bench. No keeper, So Oggy put his hand up, some say for the only time that day! Gully had 6 subs and coming off a bye last week. Coach Wenger made some changes to try and strengthen up the defence (because of Oggy?) Anyway we were 4-0 down after only 20 minutes, including 2 very soft goals and an own goal. Gully didn’t seem to be on top but every attack lead to a goal, and yet to use any of their subs. Patto was playing a loan hand up front and got his deserved goal from a Vinnie corner with a great header. 2 minutes later it was 4-2 as Greg let go with a 30 yard screamer and we were back in the game. We knew we needed an early goal in the second half but it took Gully only 35 second to make it 5-2 with a powerfully header that even Oggy couldn’t stop. The rest became a blur as it was soon 8-2. Oggy made a few saves with his feet and knees, but refused to get his gloves dirty! A consolation goal by Patto, again with his head to make it 8-3. Even with the thumping we were able to provide Patto with some pretty good service and he could have had 4 of his own. Drogba came on and was told to follow the Gully forward around the park. So tight was he, that he followed him to the bench when he was subbed off. Then in the final minute Oggy was looking for a piggy back and decided to jump on the Gully forward resulting in a penalty, which was duly converted with the last kick of the game by the Gully keeper. So it ended 9-3.. Good value for the spectators. A disappointing result, but with no subs and no keeper, we just weren’t up to it. Still we all had a laugh in the change rooms at poor Oggys expense, who was last seen drinking with the Gully team. Good games from Vinny and Patto.
Quotes of the day :
“I’ll try and keep it to 6” Oggy before the game
“Have some shots as the sun will have the keeper in his eyes”
Coach Wenger at half time
FARM DROPS THE BALL WITH 5 MINUTES TO GO AGAINST THE GROVE
14/04/2011
Match report provided by Craig Laird of Messenger Newspapers.
ELIZABETH Groves Bori Kieng has made it seven goals in two games with a hat trick that earned the Peckers a 3-3 draw in their game against Ingle Farm at Walkleys Park.
Ingle Farm who lost 2-1 to the Downs last week dominated the first half against a Grove side who flogged Florina 10-1 in round one.
The Farmers took the lead on 20 minutes after some classy work from Lachlan Campbell, Campbell waltzed past two Grove defenders before turning another and smashing the ball into the top right corner of the goal.
The Farm doubled their lead five minutes when Campbell cleverly placed a through ball to Matt Cox who cut into the box and placed his shot into the corner.
The Grove had been outplayed for majority of the half but they came back into the game just before the break when Evan Emmanuel under passed a square ball which Bori Kieng intercepted, he drove towards goal with Evan in his tail but Kieng slotted home to make it 2-1 at half time.
After half time the Farm started off where the ended the first half and dominate the play. The Grove was struggling to get control of the ball and was resulting too long balls out of defence.
On the hour Ingle Farm regained their two goal advantage when Campbell took a quick free kick from 20 yards for his second goal of the day.
At 3-1 up the Farm was playing some very clever football but to the Peckers credit they didn’t give up and with five minutes remaining Scott Knox played a long ball into the box and Kieng turned the defender before finishing well to make it 3-2.
The Grove’s dream start to the Premier league continued when in the 87th minute Kieng got on the end of another Knox long ball and finished to send the traveling Pecker army wild.
Grove coach Shane Ferdinand had this to say after the game “We are stoked with the result. They dominated the first half and we just tried to soak up the pressure. To comeback and get something out of the game shows a bit of character”.
Farm coach Paul Simpson was naturally disappointed “I’m disappointed with my players that we were 3-1 up with five to go and couldn’t hold on”.
B GAME MATCH REPORT
The Reserves played well below their potential and you could say where a little fortunate to walk with the three points. The first half was a half of wasted chances as 4 one on ones where missed by the Farm. Man of the Match, Andy Lynn, was having a blinder of a match scoring his first goal of the season to put the Farm up 1-0. There were some excellent patches of play in the half with Dave Eggers playing some sensational through balls which went unpunished. Feds was moved up front to try and add a different dimension to the forward line and it seemed to almost work immediately as Lynn put Feds through only for Feds to miss his one on one. Feds recovered from his miss and in the 32nd minutes he tucked away a cleaver finish to put the Farm up 2-0.
Two changes were made at half time to try and add some extra attack through the midfield. The second half started off similar to the end of the first half with the Farm creating many early chances to finish off the game. The Grove back into the game when a bad pass saw a turnover and a pin pass ball for the Grove striker to put them back into the game. 2-1 to the Farm.
The Grove worked hard to get back into the game, and some confusion between Eggers and Chris Air saw the nimble Grove striker steal a back pass to the keeper. Air has no choice but to bring the striker down, Penalty. The following penalty was smashed against the cross bar, the miss must have woken up the Farm as they stepped it up a notch and got a third goal through Jarrad Rich.
An average game by the reserves today who should of really walked away 6-2 winner today. C TEAM GAME MATCH REPORT
The day started off with a big bang as Ingle Farms own Hristo Stoichkov, the Bulgarian machine smashed a hatrick in the C teams 5-1 win over the Grove. The match was full of highlights, Jackie Tran scored, which has caused riots of celebrations across the world and Devon missed what can only be described as the unmissable. Somehow, while standing virtually on the goal line he headed the ball over the bar. Never the less, after going 1-0 down early in the game the Boys fought back to be 2-1 up at half time. It must have been an inspirational speech at half time by Coach Jas, because the boys came out and smashed another three in to win the game 5-1. Brilliant effort the boys, you get out what you put in and the C team lads have been working hard all preseason and it showed today. Great win, let’s carry this through to next week.
FARM GO DOWN TO ELIZABETH DOWNS IN ROUND 1
A GAME MATCH REPORT
A game match report provided by Craig Laird from the messenger Newspaper.
ELIZABETH Downs has come from behind to take all three points with a 2-1 win over Ingle Farm at Argana Park.
Both teams are predicted to be championship contenders in 2011 and it was the Downs who started brightest creating two good chances in the first three minutes which Ingle Farm cleared off the line.
After the initial scare, where the ball appeared to cross the Farm goal line unseen to the ref and linesman, the Farmers started to knock the ball around well with Lachlan Campbell instrumental in most moves and in the 14th minute they took a deserved lead.
Evan Emmanuel did some good work on the right before playing in Campbell whose cross was headed against the post by Matt Cox before being slotted away by Paul Jones.
Buoyed by the goal Ingle Farm continued to create chances with Emmanuel coming closest to another in the 22nd minute when his shot from 20 yards clipped the cross bar with Keeper Ben Aldridge beaten.
Ingle Farm went to the break 1-0 up but four minutes into the second half the Downs created something out of nothing to be back on level terms.
A harmless ball seemed to be heading to Farm keeper Rob Greenwood a mix up between Dodd and Greenwood allowed Nathan Day, playing his first game for the club, slid in to poke the ball against the keeper and then swiveled on the ground to hammer home the rebound.
The Downs were playing with more purpose in the second half and after a couple of half chances they took the lead in the 65th minute when what appeared a poor corner somehow hit a ditch on the 6 yard box, lifting over the front post defender into the waiting Steve Hughes who was on hand to header home from close range.
Ingle Farm searched for an equaliser and Cox came close in the 78th minute when he drove a shot which was well saved by Aldridge.
The Downs Scott Morrison had a goal disallowed late in the game but in didn’t matter as the Downs held on to win 2-1.
Downs coach Allan Mottram was delighted to take all three points “You always know it’s a tough game against ingle Farm so to secure three points is a great”.
Mottram while happy with the all-round effort did single out three players “I thought Daniel McKenna put in a lot of hard tackles in the midfield, Scott Morrison was solid in defense and Nathan Day showed his class and creativeness in the midfield”.
The Farm boys where guttered after the game as they felt if not for two scrappy goals and some very good goal keeping, they let that one go.

B GAME MATCH REPORT
With the Farm squad depleted by injury and personal commitments, the A’s had no choice to promote several reserves players into the squad. This left an excellent opportunity for some C players to step up. On the other hand, the Down’s, also with several players missing, still field a star studded team of A grade players for the season opener.
Both team started the game at a frantic pace with both defences holding up extremely well against both sides aggressive attacks. For the first 20 minutes the game, it would seem both teams would not score before against the run of play Eggers pushed the ball past a Downs defender, ran down the edge of the 18 yards box and hit a pin point cross through the 6 yard box for young Mark Bromley to tuck away 4 to put the Farm up 1-0.
This inspired the Farm and lifted their confidence, they would then control the game for the remaining half pushing the ball around very well and soaking up any pressure the Downs would apply.
The second half started off similar as the first but this time the Farm controlled the game earlier one before the Downs stepped it up a notch to try and get an equaliser. Time after time, the Farms defence seemed invincible as Porter, Keep, Beaham and Robertson, who were having magnificent games, kept on breaking down the Downs attack after attack, while the Farm midfield and strikers worked tirelessly to create chances.
3 minutes the end, Eggers once again intercepted a wayward pass and pin pointed a great through ball for Bromley, whose cross come shot caught the Downs keeper napping as he was beaten at his near post. 2-0 to the Farm.
The Farm held out for the remaining 3 minutes to record their first win of the season and their first league win at Argana park.
C GAME MATCH REPORT
We played our best first half of the year and went in one up. We dropped off in the second and dropped off even more when Downs had a player sent off. Really disappointing game to lose but once again there were a lot of positives from some of our new players and some great efforts by our regulars.

NEW PORTABLE GOALS
Ingle Farm Soccer Club is proud to announce that we have been successful in our application for the Active Club Sports Program, a State Government grants program, to purchase portable goals. After negotiating with Salisbury Council and the Northern Districts Baseball Club, we will now be able to utilise the space to the west of the main pitch for a secondary pitch. This will allow our Women’s team and Over 35’s to not have to play home games away due to the A’s B’s & C’s using the pitch. It will also allow us to reduce the wear and tear on the pitch which we all know has been a hazard for many years.
We would like to thank the Department of Sport and Recreation and the former Minister The Honourable Michael Wright, our local MP the Honourable Jack Snelling (now the Treasurer!!) and David Clayton, Recreation and Open Space Planner for the Salisbury Council for their hard work in help us achieve this grant. This brings us another step closer to long term goal of the full development of Walkley Park prescient
NEW WESTERN SIDE LIGHTS
20/02/2010
Ingle Farm Soccer Club is proud to announce the completion of the western light towers as part of the clubs Walkley Park Development Plan. These lights will greatly improve our training facilities and allow us to use more of the existing pitch and increase participation amongst our current men’s, women’s and over 35’s teams. It will also help reduce wear and tear on the pitch as we can spread training over 80% of the pitch rather than the 35% that we have been used to.
This project was only possible due to funding from the Australian Federal Government which we are greatly appreciative of. A project of this size for a developing club like ours would have been impossible without this vital Federal Funding. Club President Jason Walker would like to personally thank the Honourable Mr Tony Zappia, Federal Labor member for Makin, for his help in us obtaining this funding. Mr Zappia has always been a great supporter of our club from his days as Mayor of Salisbury to his current role as member for Makin. I would also like to acknowledge the assistance provided the Honourable Mr Jack Snelling, member for Playford and his office, Mayor Gillian Aldridge from Salisbury Council, Counciler Julie Woodman, Former Councilor Ann Irvine, Mr David Clayton, Recreation and Open Space Planner for Salisbury Council, Mr Bill Bailey & Mr Alex Cichanowski from the South Australia Amateur Soccer League and Ms Wendy Carter from the Football Federation of South Australia for their help and assistance. All of these parties are working towards the development of the Walkley Park area as a sustainable and mutli use facility for sport and recreation.

"Simmo" Simpson will again be Football Director and Head Coach for the
2011 Season. This will be Simmo's 9th Season in this role for the club.
